Setup States (tcmcs0186m000)Use this session to maintain setup states. If you use Supply Chain Scheduler integrated with LN, you can use set up states. You can use setup states also to plan with order blocks. Planning sequence The Generate Order Block Planning (tisfc0251m000) session sorts the newly generated order blocks according to the value of the Planning Sequence field. If you specify the value in the Planning Sequence field as zero for a setup state, the order-block planning process puts that setup state at the end of the sequence. Setup Class A type of item characteristic that indicates how a machine must
be set up to produce the item. The setup class determines the changeover time
for a machine or a tool between two operations. A setup class consists of a
series of setup states. In a matrix of setup states the specific changeover
times can be defined. Example Examples of setup classes are color and thickness. If your setup class is color, the setup states can be red, green, white, black, and so on. Setup State An item's characteristic that is linked to an operation.
Depending on the setup states of two successive operations, a machine's
changeover takes longer or less long. A series of setup states form a setup
class. Example If your setup class is color, examples of setup states are red, green, white, black, and so on. Planning Sequence The sequence number on which the Generate Order Block Planning (tisfc0251m000) session bases the sequence of order blocks. If you specify the value in this field as zero, the order-block planning process puts this setup state last in the sequence.
