Date-Effective Supply Source (tcibd0510m000)

Use this session to list the date-effective supply sources (default and actual) of Purchased and Manufactured items.

You can temporarily change the default supply source of purchased and manufactured items in the Date-Effective Supply Source (tcibd0110s000) details session.

 

Item
The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or which exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Position
The line position number.
Effective Date
The effective date of the supply source on this line.
Expiry Date
The expiry date of the supply source on this line.
Default Supply Source
The source that supplies an item by default. You can use purchase orders or schedules, production orders or schedules, assembly orders, or warehousing orders to supply an item.

The default supply source determines what type of order is used to supply the item, but in general, you can override the default and specify an alternate source.

This field can be used to determine what type of supply order must create if you enter a sales order for this item and the item's inventory on hand is not sufficient.

If the item type is Manufactured or Generic, this field can be Shop Floor or Assembly.

If the item type is Engineering Module, this field is Assembly and cannot be changed.

If the item type is Purchased, this field is Purchase and cannot be changed.

Actual Supply Source
The supply source that is used to replenish the inventory on hand for the current date.
