Work Load Control Parameters (cpwlc2101m000)

Use this session to maintain the parameters for the workload planning method for a specific combination of scenario, plan level, and plan unit.

Set the workload-control parameters for each plan unit in which the workload-control planning method is applied.

You can select infinite planning or workload control as planning method in the Master Planning Method field of the Plan Unit (cprpd6100m000) session.

Scenario
The scenario for which LN maintains the workload control parameters.
Plan Level
The plan level for which LN records the workload-control parameters.
Plan Unit
The plan unit for which these parameters are valid, under the specified scenario and plan item.
Backward Planning
If this check box is selected, LN plans the production plan backwards.

If this check box is cleared, LN skips the backward planning run of the workload control planning algorithm.

Backward Plan. Rule
This field determines how LN computes the items priority for planning, if you selected the Backward Planning check box, and LN cannot plan all plan items within one plan period.
Note

The Consider Item Priority field also influences the planning algorithm.

Forward Planning
If this check box is selected, LN plans the production plan forwards.

If this check box is cleared, LN skips the forward planning run of the workload control planning algorithm.

Forward Plan Rule
This field determines how LN computes the items priority, if you selected the Forward Planning check box, and LN cannot plan all plan items within one plan period.

The influence of the setting of this field on the the way that LN determines the items priority is also partly determined by the option that you select in the Consider Item Priority field.

Consider Material Costs
If this check box is selected, LN takes into account the material costs of an item to determine the item priority.

This check box influences the way in which LN determines the item's priority as follows:

  • If you select Yes in the Consider Item Priority field, LN bases the priority level on the option that you selected in the Backward Plan. Rule field or the Forward Plan Rule field, and multiplies the resulting value by the material costs of the plan item. Next, LN multiplies this value with the priority factor that corresponds to the plan items priority that you defined in the Priority field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session.
  • If you select No in the Consider Item Priority field, LN bases the priority level on the value that you selected in the Backward Plan. Rule field or the Forward Plan Rule field. Next, LN multiplies the resulting value by the material costs of the plan item.
  • If you select Only in the Consider Item Priority field, LN does not take into account the setting of this check box.
Consider Production Costs
If this check box is selected, LN takes into account the production costs of an item to determine the item priority.

This check box influences the way in which LN determines the items priority in the following way:

  • If you select Yes in the Consider Item Priority field, LN bases the priority level on the value that you selected in the Backward Plan. Rule field or the Forward Plan Rule field, and multiplies the resulting value by the production costs of the plan item.
Next, LN multiplies the resulting value by the production costs of the plan item.
  • If you select Only in the Consider Item Priority field, LN does not take into account the setting of this check box.
Consider Item Priority
Determines if the item priority must be considered in the planning. The item priorities are defined in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session, and range from Lowest to Highest.

Yes

The priority of an item is considered in the workload control planning, together with the rules specified in the Backward Plan. Rule field and the Forward Plan Rule field.

No

The item priority is not taken into account in the planning.

Only

The items will be planned in order of highest item priority. The values of the Backward Plan. Rule and Forward Plan Rule fields will not be used.

Capacity Consumption Based On
This field determines how the capacity is consumed when the production plan is planned.
Starting Point WLC
Determines the starting point for the simulation.
