Copy Scenario (cprpd4201m000)

Use this session to copy data from one scenario to another. On the Scenario tab, you can select which scenario-specific data you want to copy to the target scenario, and on the Item tab you can choose the item-related data that LN must copy to the target scenario.

Note
  • The target scenario must already have been defined. You can only copy the data pertaining to a scenario, not the scenario itself.

If you select the Overwrite check box, LN overwrites the target scenario's existing data. If you clear this check box, LN adds the data from the source scenario to the target scenario's data. If a particular entry already exists in the target scenario, it is not overwritten.

Note
  • If you copy plan periods, the existing plan-period definition in the target scenario is always overwritten.
  • If the Overwrite check box is cleared, and you copy special demand or planned orders, this data is always copied to the target scenario. In this case, the sequence numbers used for this data in the source scenario and the target scenario are not necessarily the same.

Scenario
The scenario from which the data is copied.
Scenario
The scenario to which the data is copied.

This target scenario must have been defined previously. You can only copy the data contained in a scenario, not the scenario itself.

The plan status of the target scenario must be Open.

Overwrite
If this check box is selected, LN deletes the existing data of each selected type in the target scenario.

If this check box is cleared, LN adds the data from the source scenario to the data of the target scenario.

Scenario - Periods
If this check box is selected, LN copies the plan-period definition of the source scenario to the target scenario.

LN overwrites the old plan-period definition, regardless of the value of the Overwrite check box. The new plan periods will be effective after you initialize the scenario by means of the Initialize, Roll, and Update Scenario (cprpd4200m000) session.

Scenario - Sites
If this check box is selected, LN copies the plan sites of the source scenario that you defined in the Scenario - Sites (cprpd4140m000) session to the target scenario, if the source scenario is a multisite plan.

Workload Control Parameters
If this check box is selected, LN copies the workload-control parameters from the source scenario to the target scenario.

From Plan Item
An item with the order system Planned.

The production, distribution, or purchase of these items is planned in Enterprise Planning based on the forecast or the actual demand.

You can plan these items by means of the following:

  • Master-based planning, which is similar to master production scheduling techniques.
  • Order-based planning, which is similar to material-requirements planning techniques.
  • A combination of master-based planning and order-based planning.

Plan items can be one of the following:

  • An actual manufactured or purchased item.
  • A product family.
  • A basic model, that is, a defined product variant of a generic item.

A group of similar plan items or families is called a product family. The items are aggregated to give a more general plan than the one devised for individual items. A code displayed by the item code's cluster segment shows that the plan item is a clustered item that is used for distribution planning.

From Channel
A sales or distribution channel used to assign goods to customer groups.

You can link channels to sold-to business partners and to items. Channels can be used in connection with available-to-promise (ATP).

You can assign a certain ATP volume to a channel. This volume limits the ATP for that channel to a maximum.
