Authorizations for texts

Before you can work with texts, the system manager must use the Text Management sessions in Tools to do the following:

  1. Define the required text groups.
  2. Assign text groups to the different record types.
  3. Authorize the LN users to use the text groups.
Text group

The text group defines, among other things:

  • The maximum length of the text lines.
  • The maximum number of lines.
  • The text editor to be used. Several types of text editors are available.

For example, different documents can have different maximum line lengths, depending on the layout of the printed report. In addition, different maximum numbers of text lines can be defined for item texts, order-line texts, and business-partner texts.

Text authorizations

Depending on your authorization, you can:

  • Create text
  • Edit text and change the text keywords
  • Display the text
  • Select the text and link it to a record

You can be authorized to access one or more text groups. For example, you can be authorized to access the texts attached to sales orders but not have access to text attached to business partners.
