Use ATT inventory regardless of lead time fences

Sometimes, a demand of a project attains high priority and requires immediate fulfillment, while the project has insufficient inventory and lead time fences prevent ATT cost peg transfers from other projects. When creating ATT cost peg transfers, the Enterprise Planning planning engine and the outbound process offset the replenishment lead times of a potential originating project against the issue date of the receiving project. If the replenishment date is after the issue date, no transfer is created and other projects are checked.

To enable the creation of ATT cost peg transfers regardless of replenishment lead times:

  1. In the Project Pegging Parameters (tcpeg0100m000) session, select the Ignore ATT Time Fence during Outbound check box.
  2. In the Cost Peg Transfer Rules (tcpeg1100m000) session, select the Use Available to Transfer check box.

Consequently, the outbound process creates permanent transfers for all excess or ATT inventory that belongs to other projects, and selects cost pegs to transfer from in the following sequence:

  • Excess inventory inventory
  • ATT considering lead times
  • ATT regardless of lead times

The Enterprise Planning planning engine ignores the Ignore ATT Time Fence during Outbound check box.

Note

If the lead times are ignored, the originating projects cannot be replenished in time through normal planned replenishment orders, because these will arrive too late according to the replenishment lead times. This may cause other cost peg transfers to be created to alleviate the shortages.

If you also select the Borrow/Loan and Payback check box in the Project Pegging Parameters (tcpeg0100m000) session and specify Borrow / Loan in the Cost Peg Transfer Type field of the Cost Peg Transfer Rules (tcpeg1100m000) session for the relevant project ranges, the outbound process can generate borrow/loan transfers for ATT inventory.
