| Service areasService areas offer the following functionality: - Service engineers can be
linked to service areas that define the areas where they work. Service areas
are one of the levels at which capacity is planned. The required and available
capacity that results from service quotations, planned maintenance, and service
orders can be analyzed by service area.
- Serviceable serialized
items can be arranged by service areas. A function is required which permits
area codes to be globally assigned to installation groups based on ZIP-code
range selections.
- A main area can be
entered by area code. This allows, for instance, employees from other areas in
the same main area to be deployed in case of capacity problems.
- Average traveling times
can be recorded, which are consulted by LN when you plan
service/maintenance activities. This is one of the ways in which traveling
expenses can be charged.
- If inventories are
replenished from regional depots, the warehouse code of the depot can be
assigned to the area. This warehouse serves as default when material
requirements are specified.
