Project 360 (tipcs0320m000)

Use this session to view, maintain, and create data related to PCS projects.

Projects in Project Control (PCS) are used to support manufacturing and engineer-to-order processes. The PCS projects are usually a mix of production orders and activities.

The Project 360 (tipcs0320m000) session is typically used by project managers for tasks such as:

  • Monitoring the progress of a PCS project.
  • Listing the material that must be purchased for a project.
  • Viewing allocated and available capacity for the project.
  • Checking whether the project costs do not exceed the budget.
How to use the Project 360 (tipcs0320m000) session

You can use the fields in the Filter Projects group box to group related projects in the same screen.

If you select a PCS project in the project list in the Project 360 (tipcs0320m000) session, costs and hours for the project are displayed in the session's header. The check marks in the check boxes indicate which data is available for a PCS project. You can click behind the check boxes to start sessions in which you can view, maintain, or create the project data.

The following sessions and graphical browser forms (GBFs) are available:

To view only the relevant projects, you can activate filters. To activate filters based on project status, on the appropriate menu, click one of the commands under View or Show Status.

Filter Projects
Project Employee

A person who works at your company who has a specific function such as sales representative, production planner, buyer, or credit analyst.

Sold-to Business Partner

Usually a customer's purchase department, the business partner who orders goods or services from your organization, that owns the configurations you maintain, or for whom you perform a project.

The agreement with the sold-to business partner can include the following:

  • Default price and discount agreements
  • Sales order defaults
  • Delivery terms
  • The related ship-to and invoice-to business partner
Calculation Group

A code representing a group of projects the user wants to compare financially.

You can assign a calculation group to:

  • A budget
  • A main project (as long as the calculation group is not assigned to another project or single project)
  • A single project (as long as the calculation group is not assigned to another main project or single project)
Project Stage

The stage that the project has reached. You can assign a specific stage to a project in the Project Details (tipcs2130m000) session.

Project Totals
Estimated Costs

The estimated costs for the project, which include:

  • The estimated item costs (project part costs) based on the BOM, routing, and so on.
  • If the Activity Estimation check box is selected for an activity in the Activities (tipcs4101m000) session, the estimated costs for project activities.
  • The estimated project surcharges.
  • If the project is a main project, the estimated costs of subprojects.

The costs for orders that are related to the project, such as sales orders and service orders, are not included in the estimated costs.

Actual Costs

The costs of production, hours accounting, purchase, service, sales, finance, warehousing, and PCS itself that are actually booked on the PCS project.

You can determine actual costs on several levels:

  • On project level:
General costs, general costs via Financials (for example, travel invoices), surcharges.
  • On customized item level:
Purchase costs, inventory surcharges, production costs.
  • On standard item level:
Standard items linked to sales orders and service orders for a project.
  • On the level of project related items:
Item costs related to project. This is a separate category of costs (mainly results) which must be mapped to the PCS WIP like the costs on project level.
Commitments

The total commitment amount. The amount is the value of the related purchase orders that are yet to be delivered.

Invoiced (Incl. VAT)

The order amount for which already an invoice is sent. The invoiced amount shows the total amount per invoice. When different PCS Projects or standard items and customized items are combined on a single invoice it is no longer possible to present correct amounts for separate PCS Projects individually.

The amount is derived from all sales orders, service orders and warehouse orders at the delivery side of the PCS project for which invoices have been printed by the Invoicing module.

If the project is a main project, the invoiced amounts for the subprojects are automatically aggregated to the main project with the Calculate Cost Prices by Project (tipcs3250m000) session.

The invoiced amount is updated during project cost calculation in the Calculate Cost Prices by Project (tipcs3250m000) session and Close Project (tipcs2250m000) session.

Invoiced and Paid (Incl. VAT)

The invoice amount for the PCS project that are already paid.

Invoiced not Paid (Incl. VAT)

The invoice amount for the PCS project that is not yet paid. The amount is calculated as follows:

Invoiced (Incl. VAT)- Invoiced and Paid (Incl. VAT)

Remaining Capacity PCS/SFC/EP

The total number of hours that is planned in Project Control, Shop Floor Control, and Enterprise Planning. The remaining capacity is the sum of the following hours:

  • The rough capacity requirements for PCS minus the hours already spent for PCS.
  • The remaining time required for SFC.
  • The machine and man capacity required for setup and production planned by Enterprise Planning.
Spent Critical Capacity

All processed man hours and machine hours in Project for the PCS project, including hours booked on SFC orders linked to the PCS project.

Total Capacity PCS/SFC/EP

The total number of hours, which is the sum of the Remaining Capacity PCS/SFC/EP field and the Spent Critical Capacity field.

Projects
Project

A collection of manufacturing and purchasing actions that are performed especially for a particular customer order. A project is initiated by a customer order for items having a To Order order policy. The purpose of a project is to plan and coordinate the production of these items.

For a standard-to-order production, the project is only used to link the item with the customer order. Otherwise, a project can include:

  • Customized item data (BOMs and routings)
  • Project planning (activity planning)

A budget is a special type of project. A budget is used to plan and estimate, not to carry out production.

Project Type
CalculationOffice

A work center that determines the enterprise unit for a project or production order and that has an administrative function.

For production orders, operations can be carried out in the calculation office, because the calculation office can act as a regular work center.

Sold to BPartnr

Usually a customer's purchase department, the business partner who orders goods or services from your organization, that owns the configurations you maintain, or for whom you perform a project.

The agreement with the sold-to business partner can include the following:

  • Default price and discount agreements
  • Sales order defaults
  • Delivery terms
  • The related ship-to and invoice-to business partner
Project Employee

A human member of an organization model. Typically, employees are Workflow users who carry out activities with the Worklist Handler.

You can only enter a delivery date if:

  • The project is a main or single project.
  • The backward planning method is chosen.
EngineeringAllowed

If this check box is cleared, all end items of the project are standard-to-order items. No customized BOM or routing can therefore be maintained. As soon as a customized item is added to the project, LN automatically selects this check box.

If this check box is cleared, the following PCS functionality does not apply:

  • Customized item data (BOMs and Routings).
  • Project planning.
  • Project structures (main/sub projects).
  • Activities.
  • Network planning.
  • Module planning.
  • General costs.
  • Service orders on the project.
  • Project surcharges.
  • Cost calculation at project level.
