Tools by item

You can link tools to items in the Tools by Item (titrp0107m000) session.

The availability planning of tools in the Availability Planning (titrp0513m000) session is done for tools that are linked to items that occur on planned production orders. The data maintained in the Tools by Item (titrp0107m000) session is only used for tools that are linked to items on planned production orders from Inventory Analysis module or from the Order Planning module.

The tool requirements planning of these orders is not based on the routings of the ordered items. The planning is based on the order lead time and offset of the tools linked to the items. When the orders are released to the shop floor, a more detailed (routing based) tool requirements planning is done.
