Coding and classifying items in GRT

If the item you want to classify does not exist in LN, the item must be generated as well as classified.

Step 1. 

Select a family in the Classify Items (tigrt0180m000) session to let LN know by which features the item must be classified. LN will display the features that must be coded.

Step 2. 

Click on the appropriate menu to start the classification process. One by one, LN asks the questions associated with the features. When you have answered a question, LN proceeds with the next question. If a particular feature is coded by means of a calculation, you will have to make LN execute this calculation after answering the calculation question. LN will then go on with the next question.

Step 3. 

Once you have answered all questions, LN will ask:

  • Search for similar items?

  • LN will then ask:

    • Save classified item?

      If you answer Yes, you can enter a project code (if necessary). An item code will then be generated, and you can define the item data in the Maintain Item Data (GRT) (tigrt1180s000) session. The coding procedure is now completed. You have created and classified a new item in LN.
