Matrix Priorities (tdpcg0120m000)

Use this session to specify matrix priorities.

This session appears as a tab in the Matrix Definition (tdpcg0610m000) session.

Note
  • If you enter a matrix definition in the Matrix Definitions (tdpcg0110m000) session with the Matrix Priority field specified, LN automatically inserts a record in the current session. For this inserted record, the effective date is empty.
  • You can update the Matrix Priority in the current session and in the Matrix Definitions (tdpcg0110m000) session. If a matrix definition has only one linked priority record, changes are synchronized between both sessions. If a matrix definition has several linked priority records, the Matrix Level and Matrix Priority fields are empty and unavailable in the Matrix Definitions (tdpcg0110m000) session.
  • If you change the value of the Matrix Priority field to zero in the Matrix Definitions (tdpcg0110m000) session, the linked priority record is removed from the current session. If you remove the priority record from this session, the Matrix Priority field becomes zero in the Matrix Definitions (tdpcg0110m000) session.
Performance aspects

Redundant matrix priorities could affect system performance and database growth. For more information, refer to Number of matrix sequences.

Matrix Type

Defines the type of a matrix definition and is linked to a set of matrix attributes.

The following matrix types are available in Pricing:

  • Sales Price
  • Sales Line Discount
  • Sales Total Discount
  • Purchase Price
  • Purchase Line Discount
  • Purchase Total Discount
  • Transfer Price
  • Line Promotions
  • Order Promotions
  • Client Freight Rate
  • Carrier Freight Rate

Each type has its own a selection of attributes. For a matrix type, the combination of a maximum of six attributes identifies the matrix definition.

Level

This field refers to the discount level, as set in the Pricing Parameters (tdpcg0100m000) session.

Note
  • This field is only visible if the Multiple Discount Levels Implemented check box is selected in the Pricing Parameters (tdpcg0100m000) session.
  • This field is only applicable for discount matrices.
Order Priority

For a matrix type, the order in which matrix definitions are searched for.

Matrix Def

Defines the group of elements (matrix attributes) that a Pricing matrix uses to determine a price, discount, promotion, or freight rate.

Imagine you are a furniture vendor and you decide to maintain your sales prices based on two elements:

  • The specific item you sell.
  • The way to handle payments.

In this case, the matrix type is Sales Price, the matrix definition is Furni (this name is user-definable), and the matrix attributes are Item and Payment Method.

Matrix Attributes

A list of elements used to define a price, discount, promotion, or freight rate. The group of matrix attributes is identified by a matrix definition and type.

In the Pricing matrix, you specify the values for the matrix attributes.

Effective Date

The first date on which the matrix priority is valid.

Expiry Date

The expiry date of the matrix priority. If this field is not filled, the matrix priority is infinitely valid.
