| To activate boostersWhen you activate a booster you can specify a user and a
session or table. - To boost a session for all users, do not specify a user.
- To boost all
sessions for a specific user, do not specify a session.
As a result, you have these options: - Boost specific sessions
for specific users.
- Boost a specific session
for all users.
- Boost all sessions for a
specific user.
- Boost all sessions for
all users.
Activating a table booster This topic describes how
to activate performance boosters for a session. To activate a table booster,
take the same steps using the Table Boosters (tcmcs0598m000) session and read table for session. At step 4, specify
the table booster options. Consult the field help for details. Setting up performance boosters of type Prevent Progress
Indicator - Start the Performance Boosters (tcmcs0597m000) session. This lists the sessions that can be
boosted and that have been used until now.
- Double-click the line that displays the session to be
maintained to display the booster details.
- Change the selection of the Booster Valid field
from Not Active to one of the other options. For more information, refer to Booster Valid.
- Specify the booster options. For details, display the field
help.
- Optionally, specify the user for whom the booster applies.
- Save the new data and close the session.
Note You cannot use New in the Performance Boosters (tcmcs0597m000) and Table Boosters (tcmcs0598m000) sessions. Use Duplicate to create a
new record. You must do this, for example, to boost a specific session or table
for a number of specific users. Activating the boosting of a session for a specific
user - Select the session in the Performance Boosters (tcmcs0597m000) session, and choose Copy or Duplicate. This
displays the booster details.
- Enter the user in the User field.
- Complete the other fields as required and save the data.
Stopping the use of a booster - Display the details
session and select Not Active in the Booster Valid field. You can then re-activate it later.
- Select the booster and
select Delete.
Setting up performance boosters of type Number of
Servers - Start the Parallel Processing Configuration (ttaad7520m000) session. This lists the sessions that
can be boosted and that have been used until now.
- Double-click the line that displays the session to be
maintained to display the booster details.
- Select the preferred option in the Mode field.
- Optionally, specify the user for whom the booster applies.
- Save the new data and close the session.
Activating the boosting of a session for a specific
user - Select the session in the Parallel Processing Configuration (ttaad7520m000) session, and click New in the toolbar.
This displays the booster details.
- Enter the user in the User field.
- Complete the other fields as required and save the data.
