Using signals

You use signals to draw the user's attention to specific information about an item or a business partner. If you define a signal, you enter the message in the Description field.

There are two types of signals:

  • Business partner signals, which you define by using the Signals (tcmcs0139m000) session.
  • Item signals, which you define by using the Item Signals (tcmcs0118m000) session.
Business partner signals

Business partner signals consist of a message only. You link a business partner signal to a business partner by using the Business Partners (tccom4500m000) session.

You can select a Blocking Status - With Block Order/Line for the following purposes:

  • Purchase
  • Sales
  • Service
  • Requisition through production
  • Issue for production
  • Adjustments
  • Cycle counting
  • Receipt correction
  • Ownership change
  • Allocation change

You link item signals to items by using the sessions of the Item Base Data module.

If you enter the item code, LN displays the message. Depending on the Blocking Status - With Block Order/Line, you can or you cannot use the item.
