| Defining employeesYou need not register all your employees in LN. However, you must
specify these employees: -
The employees whose hours must be accounted for in: - The Hours and
Expenses module of People.

The employees that you must assign to the business
partners. For example, you must assign: - A credit analysts to

Special assignments
occur in all the LN packages. You define the employees in the Employees - General (tccom0101m000) session. On the appropriate menu, you can
start various sessions to define the employee's skills, role, and so
on. After you have defined an employee, you can also use the Employee 360 (bpmdm0101m100) session to define and
view the employee's further details. Departments You must assign the
employees to departments such as service centers and work centers. LN uses this information
for production planning and capacity calculation. Skills LN uses
the employees'skills information for
resource planning in Quality and in Service. You can use the following sessions to
define skills and link them to the employees: - Skills (tcppl0110m000).
- Skills by Employee (tcppl0120m000).
Roles You can use roles to
specify the employees' position and their authorizations to perform specific
tasks and processes, or to access specific data. You can assign the roles to
groups of users or to individual users. To define roles and assign the roles to the users, use these
sessions: - Roles (tcppl0160m000).
- Roles by Employee (tcppl0170m000).
Groups To simultaneously assign roles to multiple employees, you can
specify groups of employees and assign roles to the groups in these
sessions: - Roles (tcppl0160m000)
- Teams (tcppl0140m000)
- Employees by Team (tcppl0150m000)
- Roles by Team (tcppl0180m000)
