| Print Items where a Project Code is part of the Item Code (tcibd0401m100)Use this session to print a report of items
that have an item name of which the first nine characters equal one of the
project names in LN. An item code in LN can consist of a project segment and an item
segment. If no PCS project is present for an item, which means that the item is
not customized, the project segment of the item code is empty. LN then considers the
item code as consisting of nine spaces, followed by the name in the item
segment. External applications, however, usually do not recognize an
item code consisting of an project segment and an item segment, or an item code
that is preceded by nine spaces. As a result, the project segment of an item
code that is transferred from LN to an external application, is not
recognized as such by the external application, and becomes part of the item
name. Example In an external application, an item defined in LN with project segment
STANDARD, and item segment BIKE, is considered to have the same name as a
non-customized item with item name STANDARD BIKE. With this session, you can print a list of item names in LN that match existing
project names. After that, you can decide, for example, to change the item
names. Note that the result of this session is a report. The item names or
project names are not automatically corrected. If you select the Check Project Code in Item Code check box in the Item Base Data Parameters (tcibd9199m000) session, item names and project names are
automatically checked if you define them in LN. From Item In LN,
the raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be
purchased, stored, manufactured, sold, and so on. An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit,
or exist in multiple product variants. You can also define nonphysical items, which are not held
in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers.
The following are examples of nonphysical items: - Cost items (for example, electricity)
- Service items
- Subcontracting services
- List items (menus/options)
