Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000)

Use this session to display and maintain working hours types for a specific combination of an availability type and a calendar. You can also display and maintain capacity details for that combination.

The working hours types that you connect to a combination of calendar and availability type in this session determine the available time and capacity of that combination of a calendar and availability type.

To specify the date, and to select the calendar and availability type combination for which LN must display the working hours types, click Find Record.

To shift backward and forward in the calendar, go to a specific date, or to allow LN to display the working hours for the specified calendar per each of the following, use the icons on the toolbar:

  • Day
  • Week
  • Month
  • Year

To allow LN to display the working hours per each of the following, on the appropriate menu, click View By:

  • 4 Weeks
  • Quarter
  • Half Year

The appropriate menu also provides various options to zoom to sessions that contain more calendar details.

If you clear the Available check box to make a specific availability type unavailable, the availability type becomes unavailable for the corresponding date.

To make the entire day unavailable, you must clear all the Available check boxes for the valid availability types for that day, or make the day an unavailable day in the Calendar Non-Available Days (tcccp0119m000) session.

Calendar Code

The code that identifies the calendar.

Period

The period for which LN displays the working hours and capacity data. LN can display these data per day, week, 4 weeks, month, quarter, half year, or year.

To change the period Day to one of the following values, on the toolbar, click the corresponding icon:

  • Day
  • Week
  • Month
  • Year

To allow LN to display the working hours and capacity data per each of the following, on the appropriate menu, click View By:

  • 4 Weeks
  • Quarter
  • Year
Availability Type

The availability type of the calendar to which the working hours and capacity data relate.

To change the calendar/availability type combination for which LN must display the working hours and capacity data, click the Find Record icon.

Period Dates

The start date and the end date of the period that you specified.

Period Dates

The start date and the end date of the period that you specified.

Calendar Start Date

The start date of the calendar that you defined in the Calendar Codes (tcccp0110m000) session.

Actualized

If this check box is selected, LN updated the calendar.

To update the calendar, use the Update Calendars (tcccp0226m000) session. To start this session, either click Update Calendar or, on the appropriate menu, click Update Calendar.

If this check box is cleared, calendar data has been modified, and you must update the calendar.

Calendar End Date

The end date of the calendar as you specified it in the Calendar Codes (tcccp0110m000) session.

Date

The date on which a specific working hours type is defined for the specified calendar/availability type combination. To specify a particular working hours type, click Add a New Record, and enter the date for the working hours type.

You can specify more than one working hours type for the same date. If the working hours types that you specify for a specific date overlap, LN gives a warning.

Available

If this check box is selected, a resource linked to this calendar is available for activities.

By default, this check box is selected.

To make an entire day unavailable, you must clear the Available check box for each availability type that you specified for that day.

Another way to define unavailability is to define a day as unavailable in the Calendar Non-Available Days (tcccp0119m000) session.

Working Hours Type

The working hours type that you link to the specified availability type of the calendar.

LN retrieves default values for the following fields from the Working Hours Types (tcccp0103m000) session:

  • Start Time
  • End Time
  • Efficiency Factor
  • Capacity %

You can manually change the values of these fields.

Start Time

The start time of the working hours type as defined in the Working Hours Types (tcccp0103m000) session.

You can manually change the default value.

End Time

The end time of the working hours type as defined in the Working Hours Types (tcccp0103m000) session.

You can manually change the default value.

Capacity Percentage

The percentage of the available production capacity that is the basis for work center utilization views and reports. For example, if a work center's working times are 06:00 - 16:00 (10 hours), the effectivity factor is 1.0 and the capacity percentage is 80%. 8 hours of production order execution corresponds with a capacity utilization of 100%.

The default capacity percentage is 100%.

For example, if you enter 80 here, a resource cannot be used for more than 80 percent of a time interval of the current time interval type.

LN retrieves the default value of the Capacity Percentage from the Working Hours Types (tcccp0103m000) session, but you can manually change this value.

Efficiency Factor

A variable that LN uses to take into account differences in the daily availability of a resource, such as when working overtime, hiring extra staff, or working in different shifts. For example, if an employee works six hours out of a possible eight hours on a project, the efficiency factor is 0.75.

Efficiency factors influence the lead-time calculation in Enterprise Planning.

LN uses efficiency factors for the following purposes:

  • To take into account that resources can sometimes work more efficient than the average. For example, if a particular employee works harder in the morning than in the afternoon, you can enter an efficiency factor of 1.1 for the calendar line with time interval 09:00 - 12:00.
  • To take into account that if you hire additional resources to perform the work, the lead time of operations shortens.
Note

Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors affect the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, these factors affect the speed at which the work is carried out.

Capacity percentages provide information about the utilization rate of a resource.

Derived From

The recurrence code or the name of the parent calendar from which these working times have been derived.

LN can derive a calendar from the parent calendar that you specified in the Parent Calendar field in the Calendar Codes (tcccp0110m000) session. LN can also derive the settings for a specific day of the calendar from a calendar recurrence that you defined in the Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000) session, or from an unavailable day that you defined in the Calendar Non-Available Days (tcccp0119m000) session.

If you did not specify a parent calendar in the Calendar Codes (tcccp0110m000) session, or if you did not define calendar recurrences or a nonavailable day for a specific date, LN derives the calendar settings for that day from the standard calendar.
