Staging Wizard

All Infor LN products can be installed in one installation run.

A Staging Area is used as part of the Infor LN installation process. The components stored in the Staging Area have the features of an Installable unit (IU). With the Staging Wizard you create a Staging Area.

The user interaction during the installation has decreased and many processes are automated. The Staging Wizard represents the Infor LN software components to the user. The user can select which of these components, the so-called Installable Units (IU), must be staged in the Staging Area.

Each IU that must be installed in one installation run will be loaded in the same Staging Area. No dependency check is made for the IUs loaded into the Staging Area. The user who performs the installation is responsible for loading the correct IUs and versions in the Staging Area.

Each IU can have a unique installer. After one or more IUs have been placed in the Staging Area, they can be installed simultaneously to the target system, or selectively installed. The Installation Wizard handles the actual installation of the IUs.

Before you can start with the actual installation of the Infor LN software, you must have performed some pre-installation tasks. One of the pre-installation tasks is that a database is installed and running.
