Installation directory of Infor BW

The installation directory is created during the setup process of Infor BW. The default installation directory for the various Infor BW versions is shown in this table.

During the setup, you can change this installation directory.

On Windows Vista, Windows 2008 or later, the default installation directories are:

These subdirectories are created in this directory:

  • bin:
    This directory contains the bw.exe program to start the Infor Baan application, as well as other binaries.
  • lib:
    This directory contains the files bw.tlb (type library information for OLE Automation) and tss_bw (language support).
  • Log (not on Windows Vista or later):
    This directory can contain logging information about Infor BW. Usually Infor BW will send its logging information to the Windows Event system, which can be viewed using the Windows Event Viewer.
  • Tmp (not on Windows Vista or later):
    Contains the temporary files.
  • help:
    Contains the Help files.
  • lib\user (not on Windows Vista or later):
    Contains the BW Configuration (.bwc) files.

The following subdirectories are created in the directory %SystemRoot%\Baan:

On Vista or later, the directory is located at %SystemDrive%\Infor\ERPLN\commonx86

  • bin:
    This directory contains all binaries that are shared between various versions of BW, for example, becs.exe.

On Windows Vista or later, for each user who uses the Infor BW software, the following subdirectory is created in his local application data directory:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Infor\BW\<environment name>

In this directory, subdirectories will be added when needed, such as log for logging information, tmp for temporary files, and config for BW Configuration (.bwc) files.
