Plan Unit (cprpd6100m000)Use this session to display and maintain plan units. Before you define plan units, you must determine which plan items you want to group to a plan unit, because they must use the same critical materials and the same critical capacities. You can assign a plan items to a plan unit in the Master Plan Unit field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session. In the Master Planning Method field you can select the master-planning engine that LN must use to plan the plan unit. Note LN does not take into account plan units for order-based planning.
Plan Unit A group of plan items that is planned as a single unit. A plan unit groups a set of plan items that share the production capacity of certain resources. A plan unit is planned with a specific planning engine. You can specify a planning method and planning parameters for each plan unit. A plan unit often corresponds to a production department. Usually, a production system distinguishes no more than three to five plan units. Master Planning Method The master planning engine indicates which optimization algorithm will be used to generate master plans for the plan items of a plan unit. Note Specify the hosts and servers for the planning engine in the Planning Parameters (cprpd0100m000) session. Master Phase Number The phase number for master planning. Default value By default, LN sets the phase number to zero.
