Resource priority for optimizationYou can define a resource priority in the Resource Cost Values (cprao3120m000) session to prevent changes to previously calculated optimization results. The optimization of logistic parameters is carried out for one resource at a time. Each resource has its own resource parameters. If the production of an item involves more than one resource, a problem arises: if you optimize the item's order parameters for one resource, the order parameters are not ideal for the other resources. LN resolves this problem by using resource priorities. LN records the resource for which the item's order parameters are optimized. If you repeat the optimization for a lower-priority resource, LN retains the old order parameters. If you repeat the optimization for a resource with a higher or an equal priority, LN discards the old order parameters. The Resource field in the Plan Items - Optimized Lot Sizes (cprao3110m000) session displays the resource for which an item has been optimized. Example Item X is produced with resources A and B Item Y uses only resource A Item Z uses only resource B Suppose that resource A has a higher priority than resource B, and that you first run an optimization for A, and then for B. During the optimization for resource A, LN calculates the optimal logistic parameters for items X and Y. During the optimization for resource B, LN does not change the logistic parameters of item X, because they were already optimized for a higher-priority resource. LN uses the logistic parameters (for example, lot size) of item X as constraints in the optimization of the logistic parameters for item Z.
