| Tool Types (titrp0101m000)You can link tool types to reference activities, plan
activities, and service activities in Service. Note You can only enter a tool type if the Tool Requirements Planning (TRP) check box in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session is selected. General Tool Type The tool type is the first level that is used to identify the
tool in the coding system for tools. Some examples of tool types are: - Hammer
- Screwdriver
- Wheelbarrows
Hammer 1, screwdriver 2 and wheelbarrow 3 are examples of
tool types in combination with a tool serial number, and represent unique
tools. Tool's Life Based On A tool's life is based on the number of times the tool can be used or the number of hours the tool can perform. You can modify this
field if the tool type is not planned (see the Availability Planning (titrp0513m000) session). Tool's Life The capacity of the tool expressed as the number of hours or
times it can be used. Note If the value of the Tool's Life Based On field is Not Applicable, you cannot maintain this field. Unit Set The unit set you defined for the tool in the Unit Set field in
the Items - General (tcibd0501m000) session. Tool's Life Unit Specification of the unit in which the tool's life is expressed. A tool's life can be expressed as the number of times
or number of hours the tool can be used: - If the Tool's Life Based On field is Number of Hours Used, the tool's life-unit must be Time.
- If the Tool's Life Based On field is Number of Times Used, the tool's life-unit must be Piece.
Note The unit entered in this field must be present in the unit set, which is defined for this tool type in the Unit Sets (tcmcs0106m000) session. If the unit is modified, the tool's life can be
recalculated in the new Tool's Life Unit field. Person Responsible for Maintenance Notification The employee responsible for maintenance of this tool type. Critical in Availability Planning Indicates whether this tool type is critical for availability planning of planned and actual
production orders. If this check box is selected, LN performs time-phased
availability planning for the planned and actual production orders to check if
the tool type is available. Note Only the tools for which this check box is selected can
be maintained in the Tools by Item (titrp0107m000) session. Planning Method The planning method to estimate requirements and to issue
tools to the SFC Production Order or Service Order. Refurbishing Refurbishing Point Enter the number of usages after which the tool must be refurbished. The
refurbishing point is based on the number of times or the number of hours that
the tool is used. Note You can enter the number of usages if the Tool's Life field
is based on Number of Times Used or the Number of Hours Used. Refurbishing Point Unit In this field you can define the unit in which the refurbishing point
is expressed. Piece If the life of the tool is based on the number of times
the tool is used, the physical quantity of the unit in this field is Piece. Time If the tool's life is based on number of hours the tool
is used, the physical quantity of the unit is Time. Warning Percentage Specify the point at which a warning must be given that the
tool must be refurbished. Example Refurbishing point = 1000 Warning percentage =
25% If the warning percentage is 25 for each tool type, a warning is given when
the tools have been used approximately 750 times. Refurbishing Point Reduction Percentage Specify the reduction in the refurbishing point
of each tool type after every refurbishment. If you complete a service order to refurbish a tool, the
refurbishing point of that tool is reduced by the percentage entered in this
field. Example If the refurbishing point is 25, and the reduction
percentage is 40, the refurbishing point after completion of the service order
is 15 (40% * 25 = 10. If you substract 10 from refurbishing point 25, the new
refurbishing point is 15). Note The completion of the service order does not affect the
refurbishing point of the tool type. Maximum Number of Refurbishings Specify the maximum number of times the tool can be
refurbished. If this field is 0 (zero) the amount of refurbishing orders you
can create is unlimited. Cost Rate The cost rate of the tool that is used in Service package to calculate
the cost of the tool's usage. The time unit of the cost rate is defined in the Tools Requirement Planning Parameters (titrp0100s000) session. Sales Rate The sales rate specified in the home currency. The sales rate is used to invoice the usage of tools directly
to the customer. Usage is based on the usage period in Service. The time unit of this rate is defined in the Tools Requirement Planning Parameters (titrp0100s000) session. | |
