The code of the configurable item.
Generic Item - Structure (tipcf3100m100)Use this session to control and maintain configuration data for a configurable item. The configuration data, that is, generic BOM, generic routing, product features and constraints, are set up to be able to generate product variants, for example, on customer demand. An item is configurable when the Configurable check box is selected. You can select the Configurable check box in the Items - General (tcibd0501m000) session. You can use a configurable purchased item in a BOM for a manufactured or generic assembly item. A manufactured or generic assembly items can hold following components:
For more information on procuring purchased configurable items, refer to Note For purchased configurable items, you can specify quantity greater than 1 on the BOM line. Generic item lines The lines on the tabs refer to the following sessions:
If you select a record on a tab, for example a BOM line, or a product feature, you can use the commands in the appropriate menu to carry out tasks for record.
Generic Item The code of the configurable item. Default Supply Source This field can be used to determine what type of supply order LN must create if you enter a sales order for this item and the item's inventory on hand is not sufficient.
If the item type is Manufactured or Generic, this field can be Shop Floor or Assembly. If the item type is Engineering Module, this field is Assembly and cannot be changed. If the item type is Purchased, this field is Purchase and cannot be changed. BOM Quantity The number of manufactured items to which a bill of materials (BOM) applies. The BOM quantity enables you to specify very small item quantities as BOM components. Example You need very small amounts of certain colors to mix one liter of a specific paint, Cotton White. Therefore, a BOM quantity of 1000 liter is defined. The component quantities for the paint can then be as follows:
Routing Quantity The quantity of the manufactured item on which the routing is based. A routing quantity enables you to include very short operation times in the routing of an item. Example
In a 60 minute time span, 100 items are produced. Consequently, the operation time of one item is 0.6 minute.
