To determine on order dates

When a new production order is processed, the inventory on order of the product increases. The date on which the produced items are expected to become available is recorded as a planned inventory transaction in the Inventory Planning module of Warehousing. This date is called the on-order date.

The calculation of the on-order date depends on parameter settings in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session. You can set the following two parameters regarding the on-order date:

  • Set the -If Finish Date of last Operation before Req. Order Dlv Date parameter, which applies if the production order is expected to be in time. That is, if the the earliest finish date of the latest operation is before the requested delivery date for the production order.
  • Set the -If Finish Date last Operation after Req. Order Dlv Date parameter, which applies if the production order is expected to be late. That is, if the earliest finish date for the latest operation lies after the requested delivery date for the production order.
Example

The following diagram illustrates the concepts:

The parameters can have the following values:

Requested Order Delivery Date

The planned inventory transactions are based on the date on which the customer has required delivery.

Planned Order Delivery Date

The planned inventory transactions are based on the (re)planned delivery date of the order.
