EBOM and PBOM Consistency (tiedm1520m000)

Use this session to display the differences between engineering bills of material (EBOMs) and production bills of material (PBOMs). The differences are created by changes that are applied after the EBOM is copied to a PBOM.

Note

You must finalize the copying of the EBOM to a PBOM before you run this session.

 

Engineering Item

The parent engineering item of the EBOM that you copied.

E-Item Revision

The engineering item revision which is the parent of the EBOM that you copied.

To enter a revision, click the Find Record button.

Main Item

The standard or customized production BOM's parent item to which the line of the EBOM has been copied.

To enter a new production BOM parent item, click the Find Record button.

The method by which the data was copied.

(E)BOM Quantity

The BOM quantity of the parent item.

The EBOM quantity is used in the same way as the BOM quantity for a production BOM. You can use this to specify small quantities as BOM components. If you are specifying a BOM for a dilute chemical solution, you will want to do this.

Suppose you want to make a one part per million salt solution. If the inventory unit of your solution is in liters and you therefore specify a BOM for one liter, the component item will be one milligram of salt, which is too small to be measured accurately. It is more practical to specify a BOM for a BOM quantity of 1000 liters. Thus the component will be one gram of salt.

A BOM quantity was previously called a BOM unit.

Number of Units

The number of units of the item in the EBOM or PBOM at the time of copying. This is equal to the number of units in the length or area.

Net Quantity

The net quantity of the component in the EBOM or PBOM line.

The net quantity is the number of times the component occurs in the EBOM or PBOM.

  • If the component has no Width, the value of ( Width x BOM Conversion Factor) is left out of the formula.
  • You can define conversion factors in the Conversion Factors (tcibd0103m000) session. LN uses the conversion factor which is applicable to the units of the item or E-item.
  • BOM Conversion Factor is the conversion factor from the base unit to the BOM quantity. This is derived from the BOM Unit of Measure.
Extra Information

The short text present in the EBOM or PBOM.

To Item

The component of the production BOM line to which the line from the EBOM is copied.

To Position

The position or line number of the production BOM to which the line of the EBOM is copied.

Exceptions Changed

If this check box is selected, the exceptions in the EBOM compared to the production BOM are different.
