Selections (tdsmi0170m000)

Use this session to define selections. The result of a selection is TRUE or FALSE. If the outcome is FALSE, the business partner/opportunity/contact/activity concerned is skipped.

Note
  • A selection expression can be defined in the Text Editor. You can check the expression syntax when compiling the expression by choosing Compile Expression from the appropriate menu.
  • A selection expression can be very simple or quite complex. On the Options menu of the Text Editor, click Start Zoomsession to retrieve table fields or attributes.
  • You can enter the value bp.turnover.previous.year as a predefined variable in the selection expression. For more information, refer to Predefined variable for selection expressions.
  • Text after the | sign is regarded as comment.
  • With regard to the values of variables you must distinguish between alphanumeric and numeric values. The former must be put between quotation marks ("...."), while the latter can be entered directly.
  • The decimal sign is a dot (.).
  • Selection expressions can be combined with AND and OR constructions.

Selections are used when you:

  • Mail standard letters and print flexible reports.
  • Globally add and delete activities.
