Copy BOM Components to Sales Quotation (tdsls1812s000)

Use this session to copy a bill of materials (BOM) to a sales quotation for a specified quantity of an item. You must also enter a number of phantom levels to skip.

Example

Item A is a manufactured item with a bill of material that consists of the following items:

ItemQuantity per assembly
B2
C1
D3
E1
F1

Item C is a manufactured item with a bill of material that consists of the following items:

ItemQuantity per assembly
G2
H3

If you copy the BOM of item A for four units, the following quotation lines are created, if you skip one phantom level of the BOM:

Quotation Line ItemLine Quantity
B8
G8
H12
D12
E4
F4

You can modify the quantity data with this method.

Note

You can also create a quotation line for a manufactured item without copying the BOM components if you set the Inventory Handling in the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000) session to By Component. In this case, components (B, C, D, E, and F) are allocated, and issued from inventory when the sales quotation is copied to a sales order. You cannot change the quantity data, because LN uses only the BOM data.

Main Item

The components of this manufactured item will be copied to quotation lines.

Order Quantity

The item's inventory unit. This unit of measure is used to record stock data.

Note

This field can only be accessed if the item's item type is purchased, manufactured, or generic. The inventory unit must be a valid unit for the item's unit set.

Order Quantity

The number of manufactured items. This quantity is used to calculate the quantity for each component that is copied to a quotation line.

Phantom Levels to Skip

This field indicates how many BOM levels are summarized when you use phantoms.

Default value

LN takes the default value from the Maximum Number of Phantom Levels to be Skipped field in the Sales Parameters (tdsls0100s000) session.

Budget

budget

Note

To create a peg for new quotation lines, specify a value in this field. If the peg is not allowed, it will not be filled on the order lines. If the peg is mandatory and not specified, an error will occur and the specific line(s) cannot be inserted.

Element for Budget

The smallest part of an element structure. An element is used to define the (structure of the) work of the project, so that you can carry it out.

Note

To create a peg for new quotation lines, you can specify a value in this field. If the peg is not allowed, it will not be filled on the order lines. If the peg is mandatory and not specified, an error will occur and the specific line(s) cannot be inserted.

Activity for Budget

The smallest part of the activity structure used for a time-scaled budget. An entity that is used to represent a part of a project in an activity structure.

LN distinguishes these activity types:

  • WBS Element
  • Control Account
  • Work Package
  • Planning Package
  • Milestone
Note

To create a peg for new quotation lines, you can specify a value in this field. If the peg is not allowed, it will not be filled on the order lines. If the peg is mandatory and not specified, an error will occur and the specific line(s) cannot be inserted.

Ignore Warehouse from BOM

If this check box is selected, a warehouse is defaulted to the quotation line by using the standard warehouse defaulting logic for manually entering a quotation line.

Standard warehouse defaulting logic

  1. Product variant (only for Manufactured items with the default supply source set to Assembly in the Items - General (tcibd0501m000) session).
  2. Ship-to Business Partner.
  3. Item Sales Data.
  4. Sales Quotation Header.
  5. User Profile.
  6. Item Ordering Data.
  7. Sales Office.

If this check box is cleared, the Warehouse from the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session is defaulted to the order line.
