| Freight Rate Books (tdpcg0150m000) Freight Rate Book An entity in which you can store freight rate information that
is valid for a given period of time. A freight rate book includes the following elements: - A freight rate book
header, which contains the code, rating method, distance unit, and free
distance.
- One or more freight
rate book lines, which contain the freight rates for a combination of
attributes such as carrier and service level.
The freight rates specified in a freight rate book are subject
to a minimum or maximum weight, distance, or additional rate value. Rating Method The method by which freight rates are categorized. Freight rates are based on Distance or on Zone. Default value This value is defaulted from the Rating Method field in the Freight Rate Books (tdpcg0116m000) session. Carrier The carrier that carries out
transportation against the rates defined in the current freight rate book. Service Level The service level to which the
rates per distance/zone of the current freight rate book apply. Weight The weight to which the freight amounts by distance or zone of the current freight
rate book line apply. Weight Unit The unit in which the weight is
expressed. Additional Rate Quantity A quantity by unit against which you can define freight rates.
You can choose from the units defined in Common. Many freight
rates are based on distance and weight. Additional quantities/units enable you
to define rates that are based on other units, such as volume, or define rates
that are based on combinations of distance, weight, and other units. Example 1 Freight rate by additional
quantity/unit: Additional Rate Quantity: 1 pallet, Distance: 1000 km Amount by Distance:
10 Example 2 Freight rates by combinations of units by
distance/zone: Weight: 10 kg Additional Rate Quantity: 1 m³ Break Type: Minimum Distance: | 0 | 100 | 500 | Amount by Distance | 10 | 15 | 20 | Amount by Weight | 5 | 5 | 10 | Amount by Additional Rate Unit | 5 | 5 | 7 |
In this example, freight rates are based on distance by
weight and volume. Shipment SH0001, from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, includes the
following details: Distance: 70 km, Weight: 50 kg, Volume: 7 m³ The freight costs for shipment SH0001 are: 10 * 70 (distance) + 5 * 50 (weight) + 5 * 7 (volume) = 985 Break Type The Break Type determines whether a Minimum or an Up To weight, distance, or additional rate value break is used for the
freight rate book line. Example Break Type | Minimum | | | Weight | 100 | | | Distance | 0 | Amount by Weight | 10 | Distance | 100 | Amount by Weight | 15 |
For distances <
100, weights >= 100 are multiplied by 10 to calculate the amount charged for
the total transported weight. For distances >= 100, weights >= 100 are
multiplied by 15 to calculate the amount charged for the total transported
weight. Break Type | Up To | | | Weight | 100 | | | Distance | 100 | Amount by Distance | 15 | Distance | 500 | Amount by Distance | 20 |
For distances <=
100, weights <= 100 are multiplied by 15 to calculate the weight charges.
For distances > 100 and <= 500, weights <= 100 are multiplied by 20 to
calculate the weight charges. When you select a Break Type in
combination with a given Freight Rate Book for the first time, the selected Break Type becomes
fixed and cannot be changed for any following lines in the Freight Rate Book. Distance The distance for which the current rate amounts are calculated.
This field is empty if the Rating Method is Zone. Zone Type To specify freight rates by zone, you can use zones of
the city, zip, or distance type. Zone The code of the zone for which the current
rate amounts are calculated. Entry Date The date and time when the current rate is entered. Effective Date The date and time as from which the freight rate book line is
valid. Expiry Date The expiry date and time of the freight rate book line. Minimum Amount If the calculated amount, based on the amounts by Distance/ Zone, Weight, or the Fixed Amount is
less than the Minimum Amount, the
amount specified in this field is charged as freight costs. Fixed Amount The amount that is always added to freight rates based on the
current distance or zone. Amount by Distance The amount that is multiplied by distances that are within the
distance break specified in the Distance field. Example Break Type | Minimum | | | Distance | 0 | Amount by Distance | 10 | Distance | 100 | Amount by Distance | 15 |
Distances < 100
are multiplied by 10 to calculate the amount charged for the traveled distance.
Distances >= 100 are multiplied by 15 to calculate the amount charged for
the traveled distance. Break Type | Up To | | | Distance | 100 | Amount by Distance | 15 | Distance | 500 | Amount by Distance | 20 |
Distances <= 100
are multiplied by 15 to calculate the amount charged for the traveled distance.
Distances > 100 and <= 500 are multiplied by 20 to calculate the amount
charged for the traveled distance. Note This field is empty and unavailable if the Rating Method is Zone. Amount by Weight The amount that is multiplied by weights that are within the
distance break specified in the Distance field.
For distances >= 100, weights >= 100 are
multiplied by 15 to calculate the amount charged for the total transported
weight. Break Type | Up To | | | Weight | 100 | | | Distance | 100 | Amount by Weight | 15 | Distance | 500 | Amount by Weight | 20 |
For distances <=
100, weights <= 100 are multiplied by 15 to calculate the weight charges.
For distances > 100 and <= 500, weights <= 100 are multiplied by 20 to
calculate the weight charges. Amount by Additional Rate Unit The amount that is multiplied by additional rate units that are
within the distance break specified in the Distance field. Example Break Type | Minimum | | | Additional Rate Quantity | 100 litres | | | Distance | 0 | Amount by Additional Rate Unit | 10 | Distance | 100 | Amount by Additional Rate Unit | 15 |
For distances <
100, volumes of >= 100 litres are multiplied by 10 to calculate the amount
charged for the total transported volume. For distances >= 100, volumes of
>= 100 litres are multiplied by 15 to calculate the amount charged for the
total transported volume. Break Type | Up to | | | Additional Rate Quantity | 2 m² | | | Distance | 100 | Amount by Additional Rate Unit | 15 | Distance | 500 | Amount by Additional Rate Unit | 20 |
For distances <=
100, quantities up to 2 square metres are multiplied by 15 to calculate the
amount charged for the total transported additional quantity. For distances
> 100 and <= 500, quantities up to 2 square metres are multiplied by 20
to calculate amount charged for the total transported additional quantity. | |
