Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000)

Use this session to define calendar recurrences.

Calendar Code
Availability Type
Sequence Number

The number that identifies a data record.

To insert a single recurrence more than once, such as to define multipe shifts, you must enter different sequence numbers.

Recurrence

recurrence

Tip

To enter multiple shifts that have the same recurrence, enter a different value in the Sequence Number field for each shift. However, in this case, the working times of the shifts must not overlap.

Description

The calendar recurrence's description.

Available

This check box defines whether the specified working hours are available to perform work.

If this check box is selected, resources linked to this calendar and availability type are available on the specified working times.

If this check box is cleared, the linked resources are not available during the entire day specified, regardless of the value of the Working Hours Type field and the times you specify in the Start Time and End Time field.

To specify a recurring unavailability, clear this check box.

Working Hours Type
Start Time

The start time of the working hours.

End Time

The end time of the working hours.

Capacity Percentage

The maximum utilization percentage of a resource for this working hours type.

For example, if you enter 80 here, a resource cannot be used for more than 80% of the working hours of the corresponding working hours type.

By default, LN sets the value of the Capacity Percentage field to 100%.

Note

Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors affect the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, they influence the speed at which the work is carried out.

Capacity percentages give information about the utilization rate of a resource.

Efficiency Factor

efficiency factor

You can use the efficiency factor to do the following:

  • Take more efficient working resources into account in the planning of shop floor operations. For example, if a certain employee works better in the morning than in the afternoon, you enter an efficiency factor of 1.1 for the calendar line with the working hours type from 09:00 to 12:00.
  • Shorten the lead time of operations by hiring extra resource for certain work.
Note

Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors affect the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, they influence the speed at which the work is carried out.

Capacity percentages give information about the utilization rate of a resource.

Overtime

If this check box is selected, the working hours are defined as overtime.
