Put away to Quarantine in Manufacturing

During the production process the quality of the end item is part of the process. In LN it was always possible to reject a certain quantity instead of reporting it complete. When this was done, the quantity disappeared from the operation and was in essence scrapped.

Because scrapping the rejected quantity is not always best option, in Infor LN 10.4 functionality is added to send end items that were rejected on a production order operation to a quarantine warehouse or a quarantine location in a normal warehouse. From this location the rejected items can be evaluated then reworked or reworked into new end items and scrapped if reworking is not possible or used as is.

The same functionality is available for the materials used in the manufacturing of the production order. Materials rejected from a production order can be scrapped or moved to quarantine.

A quarantine receipt uses the effective cost competent structure for the financial transaction. The WIP transfer is used to translate the detailed cost component structure to an effective cost component structure. Because of this the quarantine receipt transaction is subtracted from the WIP transfer issue using a negative transaction.

The Use Reason Codes for Rejected Items parameter in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session is renamed Use Reason Codes for Scrapped Items to differentiate between the old functionality where all rejected items are scrapped, and the new functionality where rejected items are put in to quarantine.

The tab Series in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session is renamed Miscellaneous.
