It is not mandatory to use CFM in combination with (demand)
pegging.

To select the Customer Furnished Materials check box in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, only the Ownership External check box must be selected. The
pegging check boxes can be cleared.
Customer furnished materials can be used on orders, if one of
the following conditions is met:
The item's order system is Planned in the Items - Ordering (tcibd2500m000) session.
