Warehouse - Item - Lots Inventory (whltc1505m000)

Use this session to view lots by warehouse and item.

Warehouse
A place for storing goods. For each warehouse, you can enter address data and data relating to its type.
Item
In LN, the raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, sold, and so on.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not held in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The following are examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Inventory Unit
The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter.

The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all item types, also to item types that cannot be kept in stock.

Lot
A number of items produced and stored together that are identified by a (lot) code. Lots identify goods.

In the Item - General (tcibd0101s000) session, you can specify whether LN must trace and track lots for an item. If so, the item is registered by lot so that the inventory on hand can be registered individually for each lot.

Effectivity Unit
A reference number, for example a sales order line or a project deliverable line, that is used to model deviations for a unit effective item.
Lot Date
The lot's inventory date. LN assigns the inventory date to the lot when the lot is received.

You can use inventory dates to retrieve lots based on the outbound priority.

If the outbound priority is LIFO or FIFO, the default for the inventory date is the receipt date. If the item has a particular shelf life, the inventory date is the lot's product expiry date. An item has a particular shelf life if:

  • The value of the Period for Shelf Life field in the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4100s000) session is Days, Months, or Years.
  • A number of shelf life periods is specified in the Shelf Life [Periods] field in the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4100s000) session.

LN determines the product expiry date as follows:

product expiry	date = receipt date + period for shelf life * shelf life [periods]

If the outbound priority is By Location, the lot's inventory date is irrelevant.

On Hand
The inventory on hand for the lot.
Allocated

If an outbound advice is created while the lot selection is:

  • Any
LN allocates lot inventory for the advised quantity.
  • Same
LN allocates specific lot inventory for the outbound order line's ordered quantity. As a result, if you advise less than the ordered quantity, you are sure that you can ship the remaining quantity from the same lot.
  • Specific
LN allocates specific lot inventory for the outbound order line's ordered quantity.
Blocked
The inventory on hold for the lot, expressed in the inventory unit.

Lot inventory on hold can result from blocking or from inspections. For example, a part of the lot is blocked because of a blocked location.

On Order
The inventory on order for the lot.
Note

This field is used only if goods of the lot are returned.

Location Allocated
The lot quantity allocated at the location level is the lot quantity for which an outbound advice exists.

If an outbound advice is created, this quantity is increased. When the quantity is shipped, this quantity is decreased with the shipped quantity.
