| Create New Package Combination / VRCs (One Step) (ttaad1222m000)Use this session to create a software
environment in a single step. This session: - Creates new package VRCs, which are derived from the package VRCs in the source package
combination
- Creates the software run-time directories for the new package
VRCs
- Creates a new package combination with the new package VRCs
- Changes the package combination, for a specified range of
companies that are linked to the source package combination, into the new
package combination.
- Changes the package combination, for a specified range of
users that are linked to the source package combination, into the new package
combination.
- Creates developer
authorizations for one of the new package VRCs. (Only if a developer is linked
to the source package combination and already has authorization for one of the
package VRCs in the source package combination).
- Changes the current package VRC of developers into one of the
new package VRCs. (Only if the developer is linked to the source package
combination and the developer's current package VRC is equal to one of the
package VRCs in the source package combination).
- Copies all Customer Defined Fields definitions, if Customer
Defined Fields is enabled.
This session does in one step what you can do manually in
the sessions: - Package VRCs (ttadv1111s000)
- Directories of Software Components (ttadv1115m000)
- Package Combinations (ttaad1120s000)
- Packages by Package Combination (ttaad1121m000)
- Change Package Combination by Company (ttaad1101m000)
- Change Package Combinations for Users (ttaad2200m000)
- Developer Authorization Template (ttams1151m000)
- Change Current Package VRC of User (ttadv0140m000)
- Customer Defined Fields (ttadv4591m000)
After you enter the data, click Create to start the process. Note - After you enter the target package combination, the system
automatically starts the Specify VRC Codes to Create (ttaad1223s000) subsession, where you can specify the VRCs
that must be created in the new package combination.
- When you select the Change Current Package VRC check box, you are
prompted to enter the Password for Developer Authorizations. This action
enables you to verify the changes to the developer’s user profile, such as when
the developer’s current package VRC and developer authorizations are changed by
the process.
- When you specify a runtime directory in the Directory Software Components field, the system automatically creates a
subdirectory for each new package VRC. For details, refer to Path on System.
- If the new package combination is an operational package
combination, select the Table Def. in Shared Memory check box to optimize its performance.
Possible messages/questions in this session - There are still table definitions to be converted to runtime and possibly tables to be reconfigured (package combination <Source Package combination>):
If this message appears, you must first run the Convert to Runtime Data Dictionary (ttadv5215m000) session for the source package
combination, with the following check boxes selected: - Tables
- Domains
- Reconfigure Tables
- Record ttaad120<package combination> is in use; try again ?:
If this question appears, somebody else is running one
of the following sessions: - Change Package Combination by Company (ttaad1101m000)
- Packages by Package Combination (ttaad1121m000)
- Package VRCs (ttadv1111s000)
- Create Runtime Data Dictionary (ttadv5210m000)
- Convert to Runtime Data Dictionary (ttadv5215m000)
After a system crash you can get this question, even if nobody else
is working in these sessions. In that case, you must delete an application lock
in the Application Locks (ttadv9598m000) session. Delete the application locks with the
key: tttaad120<Package Combination>
Source Package Combination Target Package Combination Runtime Direct. Data Definitions The path leading to the directory dd<package
combination>, where the domain and table definitions of the package
combination must be stored. If the path does not exist, Tools will ask whether it must be
created. Directory Software Components Change existing companies/users Select this check box to change the current package combination
of the users that are linked to the source package combination to the new
package combination. In addition, the current package combination to which the
companies are linked is changed to the new package combination. Note You can specify the ranges of companies and users to do
this action in the following fields. Table Def. in Shared Memory Note For performance reasons, you must select this check box for
every operational package combination. Change Current Package VRC If this check box is selected, the current package VRC of the users in
the defined user range will be changed into one of the VRCs that belong to the
target package combination. Developer authorizations for those users are also
generated. This is only done if the following conditions are met: - The user is linked
to the source package combination.
- The user is already
a developer of one of the package VRCs in the source package combination.
