| To use earned value related dataIf you want to generate a planned value (PV) for a project with the Generate Time Phased Budget (tpptc5200m000) session, you must assign earned value method related
data to the activities in a time-phased
budget. The planned value is calculated for the leaf nodes and aggregated
using the activity structure. Earned-value-method data in a version can be
maintained only for those activities for which a budget amount is present in
the version. With earned-value-method-related data you can apply
performance measure techniques generating the EV, and the actual cost. The following sessions are used to define earned value. The
sessions all start in the EV Method Related Data (tpptc5511m000) session by selecting the Details EVM... option on
the appropriate menu: - Use the EV Milestones Related Data (tpptc5111s000) session to define the amount or
percentage for activities with an earned value method of Milestone.
- Use the EV Start/End Percentage Related Data (tpptc5112s000) session to define the start-
and end-percentages for activities with an earned value method of Start and End
Percentage.
- Use the EV Maximum Percentage Related Data (tpptc5113s000) session to define the maximum
percentages for activities with an earned value method of Schedule Percentage
Completed or Level of Effort. See To use an earned value method. If activity
data is stored in a version which is not the current version, you can use the
menu option Copy to Current Version in the EV Start/End Percentage Related Data (tpptc5112s000) session and the EV Maximum Percentage Related Data (tpptc5113s000) session to copy that data to
the current version. This is only possible if the status of the current version
is Free or Actual and the project status is Free or Active.
