Alternative Tool Types (titrp0505m000)

Use this session to list alternative tool types. You can maintain alternative tool type data, in the Alternative Tool Types (titrp0105s000) details session.

If you have started this session by zooming, you can only find and select a record.

Note

If you enter an alternative tool type, LN compares the cost rates and the sales rate of the alternative tool type and the main tool type. The cost rates and the sales rates are defined at the tool type level. Since multicurrency is applicable for the cost rate (meaning, cost rate can be stored in three different currencies), the comparison for the cost rate is performed based on the home currency.

If the cost rate or the sales rates differ, LN displays a warning message. The cost rate and the sales rate tool must be the same to prevent problems with costing of this tool type.

Tool Type
The tool type is the first level that is used to identify the tool in the coding system for tools.

Some examples of tool types are:

  • Hammer
  • Screwdriver
  • Wheelbarrows

Hammer 1, screwdriver 2 and wheelbarrow 3 are examples of tool types in combination with a tool serial number, and represent unique tools.

Priority
Priority arranges alternative tool types according to their suitability as substitute. Tool types with the lowest value, for example 1, have the highest priority.

You can define two or more alternative tool types for one tool type. If these tool types have the same priority, the tool type that you select first is used for the tool requirements planning.
