Project Surcharges (tipcs3120m000)

Use this session to list project surcharges.

Note

If you have started the session by zooming, you can only find and select a record. If the project is of the Budget type, it is not possible to enter actual surcharges. If no project is filled, general surcharges for all projects, without their own surcharges are defined.

In the detail session you can maintain cost price surcharges by project, and by surcharge type, for performing a project calculation. These surcharges - which can be recorded for the estimated and actual project calculation - are applied to the total estimated or actual costs for a project. They form the basis for extra costs or discounts (in percentage of amounts) in the project's cost price structure.

Project
A collection of manufacturing and purchasing actions that are performed especially for a particular customer order. A project is initiated by a customer order for items having a To Order order policy. The purpose of a project is to plan and coordinate the production of these items.

For a standard-to-order production, the project is only used to link the item with the customer order. Otherwise, a project can include:

  • Customized item data (BOMs and routings)
  • Project planning (activity planning)

A budget is a special type of project. A budget is used to plan and estimate, not to carry out production.

The type of cost price surcharge indicates whether there is an estimated or actual surcharge on the cost price for the project.
Sequence
Each time you enter a new project surcharge, the detail session will be activated. The sequence field in this detail session will automatically be filled with 10 or a multiple thereof. You can always overwrite this value. Once you have completed executing the detail session, the sequence number will be filled in the overview session.
Variable Cost
Specifies whether the project surcharges are variable or fixed.

If this check box is selected, the surcharge is considered a variable cost. Otherwise, it is considered a fixed cost.

Note

Fixed costs are only included in the cost price of a project if the Include Fixed Costs in Project Valuation parameter is selected.

Calculation Line Type
Indicates how the calculation line in the computation of the project surcharge is taken into account.
Currency
The currency in which the amount is expressed.

The description of the currency.

The project surcharge expressed as an amount.

If you chose:

  • Surcharge in the Calculation Line Type field
  • Fixed Amount in the Surcharge Method field

You can enter a cost price surcharge in the surcharge amount field.

Surcharge Percentage
The project surcharge expressed as a percentage.
Surcharge Method
The method of computing the project surcharge.

Only cost components with the cost type Surcharge on Material Costs, Surcharge on Operation Costs, or General Costs are allowed.
Project Status
The current stage of the project.
