| Project Resource Plan (tipcs0520s100)Use this session to view the work centers
that are involved in a specific PCS project, and to determine the impact of the
PCS project on the capacity of the involved work centers. A PCS project requires capacity for a specific stretch of
time, often from multiple work centers. In this session, you can define a start
date, and the number of periods that expresses the term of the PCS project.
After that, for every work center, the following numbers are
displayed: Number of Periods Above Capacity Excluding Project The number of periods that the requirements for the work
center's capacity exceed the available capacity. The capacity that is required
for the PCS project is not taken into account. Number of Periods Above Capacity Including Project The number of periods that the requirements for the work
center's capacity exceed the work center's available capacity. The capacity
that is required for the PCS project is taken into account. First Period Above Capacity The first period that the total capacity requirements for the
work center exceed the work center's basic capacity. Number of Periods Involved for Project The total number of periods that the PCS project requires
capacity from the work center.
These numbers are indicators of the work centers' available
capacity. On the basis of these numbers you can adjust your planning activities
for the PCS project. LN derives the list of work centers that are involved in the PCS project from the
following information : - The planned capacity use by order in Enterprise Planning.
- The production order planning and operations in Shop Floor Control.
- The activities by PCS project in Project Control.
Resource utilization chart If you select a work center, you can click Show Chart to display the work center's resource
utilization chart. Project A collection of manufacturing and purchasing actions that are
performed especially for a particular customer order. A project is initiated by
a customer order for items having a To Order order policy. The purpose of a project is to plan and coordinate the production
of these items. For a standard-to-order production, the project is only
used to link the item with the customer order. Otherwise, a project can
include: - Customized item data (BOMs and routings)
- Project planning (activity planning)
A budget is a special type of project. A budget is used to
plan and estimate, not to carry out production. Start Date A PCS project requires capacity for a specific stretch of time.
In this field, you can define the start date of the stretch of time for which
you want to view the impact of the PCS project on the work centers'
capacity. Period Length The number of days to which the capacity requirement
applies. Number of Periods The number of periods that the PCS project requires capacity of
the work centers. The value of this field multiplied by the number of days
that you define in the Period Length field determines the term for which you
want to view the PCS project's impact on the work center capacity. Work Center The work center that is part of the PCS
project, and for which a capacity requirement can exist. Basic Capacity If the Period Length field is 1 day, this field displays the
daily capacity of each resource unit in the work center. If the Period Length field is 7 days, the weekly capacity is
displayed. If the Period Length is 14 days or 28 days, the weekly
capacity is multiplied by respectively 2 or 4. The work center's daily and weekly capacity are defined in
the Work Centers (tirou0101m000) session. Number of Periods Above Capacity Excluding Project The number of periods that the requirements for the work
center's capacity exceed the available capacity. The capacity that is required
for the PCS project is not taken into account. Number of Periods Above Capacity Including Project The number of periods that the requirements for the work
center's capacity exceed the work center's available capacity. The capacity
that is required for the PCS project is taken into account. The number of periods in this field is always equal or
higher than the number of periods in the Number of Periods Above Capacity Excluding Project field. First Period Above Capacity The first period that the total capacity requirements for the
work center exceed the work center's basic capacity. Number of Periods Involved for Project The total number of periods that the PCS project requires
capacity from the work center. | |
