Sequence of estimated material lines

If you generate a production order, the BOM lines of the production order's item are listed as materials in the Estimated Materials (ticst0101m000) session and the Estimated vs. Actual Material Costs (ticst0501m000) session. The sequence and the number of the material lines are respectively determined by the following factors:

  • The Sorting Method Components parameter in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session.
  • The aggregation of the BOM lines.
The sequence of the material lines

The sequence of the material lines is determined by the Sorting Method Components parameter in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session. You can select the following values:

Item

All components are sorted by item code, in alphabetical order.

Operation and Item

The components are first sorted by operation (at the highest level), and subsequently by item code.

Pos. Highest BOM Level

The components are sorted on the basis of the position numbers from the BOM of the main item.

Own BOM Position

The position numbers of the components' BOMs are used for sorting purposes.

Example

30spokes30spokes
40frame40rim

In the example, the wheel is a phantom. As a result, the wheel is not listed in the estimated materials.

The aggregation of the BOM lines

In principle, the material lines for a specific production order equals the BOM lines of the production order's item. However, sometimes less material lines can be found in the estimated materials than BOM lines were present. The reason is that equal BOM lines are aggregated in the material lines. This limits the number of material lines compared to the BOM lines.

Example

You have copied a BOM line with a net quantity of 2, which results in two equal BOM lines. If a production order is generated, one aggregated material line is created with a net quantity of 4.

If the BOM lines contain the following, their values must be the same to consider the BOM lines as equal.

  • Component (item).
  • Operation.
  • Lot selection.
  • Backflushing Yes/No.
  • Material control method.
  • Warehouse.
  • Inspection Yes/No.
  • Revision.
  • Scrap factor.
  • Width, length.
  • Number of units.
  • BOM position number: If the Sorting Method Components parameter in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session has the Own BOM Position value, aggregation only takes place if the position number for all BOM lines is the BOM line's current BOM position.

If the Sorting Method Components parameter in the Shop Floor Control Parameters (tisfc0100s000) session has the Pos. Highest BOM Level value, aggregation only takes place if the BOM position number for all BOM lines is based on the main item's BOM position number.

Note

Only BOM lines for which all net quantities are either negative or positive can be aggregated. BOM lines with positive net quantities cannot be aggregated with BOM lines that have negative net quantities.
