	Assembly Planning Parameters (tiapl0100s000) Use this session to to define parameters for Assembly Planning. If you started this session by double-clicking an existing parameter set in the Assembly Planning Parameters (tiapl0500m000) overview session, you can only display the values. If you started this session by double-clicking the top line (Actual Set), you can enter new values, if you have the necessary authorization. If you change and then save the current set of parameters, the set is saved as a new set. Note Changing parameters can have widespread effects throughout Assembly Planning. For this reason, do not change any value in this session until you know what the effects will be. Related topics Assembly planning overview Effective Date The date and time that the parameters are valid. The parameters are valid up to the effective date of a more recent parameter setting. Engineering Environment The identification of the environment. LN requires this parameter to distinguish the assembly part requirements of multiple environments in the same company. Is Master Company If this check box is selected, your current company is defined as the master company. The master company can be one of the companies of the assembly line, or a separate company. The master company is used to store master data, such as product variants, BOMs, and so on. Note that you can only maintain data and run processes if you work in the master company. This applies both to Assembly Control, where you define the assembly line structure, and to Assembly Planning. In Assembly Planning, one exception exists: the Generic Item - Assembly Line (tiapl2500m000) session. If this check box is cleared, the fields in this session are disabled. Note You can only select this check box if no assembly orders are present in this company. You can only clear this check box if no product variants are present in this company. Use OpenWorld If this check box is selected, Infor Integration is used for a limited set of integrations to connect to other companies. Other integrations use Switch Company. If this check box is cleared, Switch Company is used to connect to other companies. The following integrations can use Infor Integration: Calculate Assembly Part Requirements. Infor Integration is used to retrieve the assembly order allocation status from Assembly Control, and is used to transfer assembly part requirements to LN. Create Line Station Variants. The Create Assembly Orders procedure and the Refresh and Freeze Assembly Orders procedure can create line station variants in Assembly Control, for which they can use Infor Integration. Create Assembly Orders. The actual creation of assembly orders in Assembly Control can use Infor Integration. Refresh and Freeze Assembly Orders. Infor Integration is used to retrieve assembly order information from Assembly Control, and is used to perform the actual refresh and freeze of the assembly orders in Assembly Control. The information retrieved from Assembly Control is the start times and freeze status of the segments, and the sequence information of the assembly order. Note Switch Company is a function in LN to switch between companies. External Assembly Parts and Operations If this check box is selected, an external source delivers the flattened assembly parts and operations to Assembly Planning. If this check box is cleared, the assembly parts and operations are flattened during the calculation of the assembly part requirements. Configuration Product Variant Number Group The number group that is used to generate product variant numbers, which are used in the Generate Product Variants process. The following conditions apply to the number group you select: The series must not already be in use. The series length must be zero. The number group must not already be in use. The number group must be dedicated to production. The first free number must be greater than the highest product variant number. Related topics To use number groups and series Configure by PCF If this check box is selected, generic items with order system FAS are configured in the Product Configuration module, based on the generic BOM defined in Product Configuration. You must select options when you enter a sales order line. If this check box is cleared, generic items with order system FAS are configured in the Assembly Planning module. You cannot use options and features to configure the item, but you can use unit effectivity. To view whether product variant was configured with Product Configuration, view the Configured by PCF check box in the Product Variants (tiapl3500m000) session. Allow Reconfiguration if Orders are Frozen If this check box is selected, a product variant can be reconfigured when the Assembly Order Status is Planned or Sequenced. The purchase configurable items can be reconfigured in the product variant, even if the Assembly Order Status is Frozen. Note The item can be reconfigured, only when the line station orders which have the item as an assembly part are not started. Sell Multiples of Same Configuration If this check box is selected, you can enter an assembly item on a sales order line with an order quantity greater than one. The entire quantity of the order line will be of the same product variant. If the order quantity on the sales order line is greater than one, LN uses multiple assembly orders to produce the items, because an assembly order always has an order quantity of one (1). Related topics To sell multiples of product variants for assembly External Product Variant Structure If this check box is selected, the generic BOM relations between the generic end item and the engineering modules are delivered to Assembly Planning from an external source. LN provides no functionality to copy this information to the product variant structure. If this check box is cleared, the generic BOM relations between the generic end item and the engineering modules are copied from the generic BOM into the order-specific BOM when you run the Generate Product Variant Structures (tiapl3210m000) session. Note The product variant structure defines two types of relations: The relation between generic items and generic sub-items. These relations are always copied when the product variant structure is created, which is upon order entry, when the created product variant is saved. Note that these relations can occur on several levels, not only directly below the end item. The relation between generic items and engineering modules. Only these relations are affected by the current parameter. Refer to the Help on the following sessions for more information on the generic BOM and the order-specific BOM: Generic Bill of Material (tiapl2510m000) Product Variant Structures (tiapl3510m000) The following procedures can also solve the product variant structures for engineering modules, when they require these product variant structures: Calculate Assembly Part Requirements (tiapl2221m000) Generate Assembly Orders (tiapl3201m000) Refresh and Freeze Assembly Orders (tiapl3203m000) Demand Time Fence The number of days for which the product variant structure is determined, and the assembly part requirements are calculated. Scenario The scenario you want to use to calculate the assembly part requirements. The plan periods of this scenario are used to create the segment schedules and to send the assembly part requirements to LN From this field, you can zoom to the Scenarios (cprpd4100m000) session, where you can select or create a scenario. Note You can only select a scenario that is defined in the master company. Related topics Scenarios in Enterprise Planning Scenario Reference Date The reference date of the scenario that is used in the last calculation of the assembly part requirements. Note If you select another scenario, this field is emptied. The reference data is only a date. No time indication is used. Assembly Parts Requirements Directory The directory to which the files are written that are the result of calculating the assembly part requirements for product variants in the Company - Bus Component (tiapl0101s000) session. The files that are stored in this directory are read by Enterprise Planning. Allow Assembly Orders for Unsold Product Variants If this check box is selected, and an assembly order with a status other than Closed is available for a product variant, the product variant can be unlinked on the sales order/quotation line. If this check box is cleared, and an assembly order is available for a product variant, the product variant cannot be unlinked on the sales order/quotation line. Note If a product variant is unlinked, only the reference to the sales order/quotation is removed. The product variant can be reused by another sales order/quotation. In test mode, you can maintain data that is otherwise maintained by external packages. If the External Assembly Parts and Operations check box is selected, the following data is maintained externally: Operations, displayed in the Operations (tiapl1500m000) session Operation assignments, displayed in the Operation Assignments (tiapl1510m000) session If the External Product Variant Structure check box is selected, the following data is maintained externally: Product variant structures, displayed in the Product Variant Structures (tiapl3510m000) session In these cases, you cannot maintain this data from within LN, unless you operate in test mode. Further more, when Test Mode check box is selected: You can also run the Actualize Assembly Line Costing Data (ticpr0215m000) session for a manually chosen effective date. You can maintain exchangeable configurations manually in the Line Segment - Exchangeable Configurations (tiasl2530m000) session.
