Items by Opportunity (tdsmi1113m000)

Use this session to add items to an opportunity.

This session enables a sales representative to easily:

  • Offer various products to a business partner
  • Generate sales quotation lines from the opportunity
  • Have information on the expected revenue of the sales quotation and the opportunity
Note
  • You cannot add items to an opportunity if its Status is Dead, Won, Lost, or Canceled
  • Prices and discounts are calculated based on the opportunity's Expected Close Date. A user can change the calculated prices and discounts
  • To generate a sales quotation header and lines from the opportunity, click Generate Quote on the appropriate menu of the Opportunity (tdsmi1610m000) session

Opportunity
Used by a sales person to record and monitor sales information related to a business partner with the purpose of selling a product or service to this business partner.
Select
If this check box is selected, the item is applicable for this opportunity.

If this check box is selected:

  • When generating a sales quotation from the opportunity, a sales quotation line is generated for the item
  • The item is included in the Item Revenue of the Opportunity (tdsmi1610m000) session
Position
The position number of the opportunity item line.
Item
In LN, the raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, sold, and so on.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not held in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The following are examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Ordered Quantity
The item quantity that must be offered to the business partner.
Ordered Quantity
The unit in which the Ordered Quantity is expressed.
Price
The opportunity item line's sales price.
Price
A generally accepted medium of exchange such as coins, treasury notes, and banknotes.

The following currency types are available in LN:

  • Home currency, which is used internally by companies to calculate costs, record budgets, and register tax amounts
  • Transaction currency, which is used in transactions with business partners, such as orders and invoices
Price
The unit to which the (sales/purchase) price applies.
Discount Percentage
The discount percentage for the opportunity item line.
Discount Amount
The discount amount for the opportunity item line.
Multi Level Discount
If this check box is selected, a multi level discount is applied to the opportunity item line.
Amount
The net order line amount for the opportunity item line.
Mandatory Project Peg
If this check box is selected, the item must be pegged to a project, which means the item must have a linked peg.
Note

The peg is mandatory only on the sales quotation line and sales order line. Therefore, the peg is optional in this session. When a sales quotation line is generated from the opportunity item line, the opportunity's peg is copied to the Budget, Element for Budget, and Activity for Budget fields on the quotation line.

Default value

The Mandatory Project Peg check box in the Items - General (tcibd0501m000) session.

Project
The code of the project for which the item is required.
Element
The element linked to the project.
Activity
The activity linked to the project.

 

Price Inquiry
Starts the Price Inquiry (tdpcg0250m000) session, in which you can view how prices and discounts are calculated for an opportunity item line.
Price and Discounts
Starts the Price and Discounts (tdpcg1600m000) session, in which you can view and maintain the price and discounts for an opportunity item line.
