Price Calculator (tdpcg0200m100)

Use this session to view and update simulated prices and discounts. You can change pricing attributes to check how these changes affect the other pricing attributes.

The following columns are displayed in this session:

  • Price Existing
    Displays the existing pricing attributes. The fields are disabled.
  • Price Simulated
    Displays the simulated new prices. You can change the fields to execute a new calculation.
  • Price ATP
    Displays simulated available-to-promise prices and quantities. This column is only visible if this session is started from the Price Simulator (tdpcg0200m300) session with the Include ATP check box selected and the ATP field filled.

Dependent from where this session is started, you can generate the following from the simulated pricing data:

  • Sales order / purchase order
    Click Generate Order.
  • Sales quotation / opportunity
    Click Generate Quote.
  • Request for quotation
    Click Generate RFQ.

Quantity
The quantity for which the inspection is required. Consequently, the result of the inspection order concerns the quality of this quantity.
Quantity Unit
The unit in which the ordered quantity is expressed.
Price Date
The date and time on which the price information is based and/or simulated.
Book Price
The price for the item according to the standard price book, increased by an upgrade price if applicable. The default price for an item is stored in the default price book.
Currency
A generally accepted medium of exchange such as coins, treasury notes, and banknotes.

The following currency types are available in LN:

  • Home currency, which is used internally by companies to calculate costs, record budgets, and register tax amounts
  • Transaction currency, which is used in transactions with business partners, such as orders and invoices
Price Unit
The unit to which the (sales/purchase) price applies.
Net Price
The book price with all (other) discounts applied. If no discounts exist, the gross price is equal to the net price. The net price is calculated as follows:
Net price = book price - line discount - order discount
Gross Amount
The total amount from which taxes, rebates, discounts, and so on are deducted to reach the net amount. The gross amount is calculated by multiplying the order quantity with the book price.
Total Cost Price
The cost price for the item.
Total Cost Price
Enter the simulated cost price for the item.
Total Discount %
The total of order line discounts, expressed as a percentage.
Total Discount Amount
Net Amount
The gross amount minus discounts. The net value is always stated in the transactional currency.

If multiple discount levels are used, the net amount is calculated from the gross amount minus discounts at previous levels.

Freight Amount
The calculated freight (invoice) amount, which is retrieved from a carrier rate book or client rate book in Pricing.
Total Amount
The sum of net amount and Freight Amount.
Gross Margin
The sales revenue minus all manufacturing costs, both fixed and variable.

This is the difference between the net amount and the Total Cost Price.

Markup Percentage
The Gross Margin/ Total Cost Price.
Gross Profit
The earnings after direct costs of the goods sold are deducted from the sales revenue for a specific period.

The Profit Calc Based on Cost/Sales Price field in the Sales Order Parameters (tdsls0100s400) session and the Base Price for Gross Profit Calculation field in the Purchase Order Parameters (tdpur0100m400) session determine how the gross profit is calculated.

If these fields are set to:

  • Sales Price or Purchase Price
    Gross profit = Gross Margin/ Net Amount
  • Cost Price
    Gross profit = Gross Margin/ Total Cost Price
(Based On)
This field is defaulted from the Profit Calc Based on Cost/Sales Price field of the Sales Order Parameters (tdsls0100s400) session or the Base Price for Gross Profit Calculation field of the Purchase Order Parameters (tdpur0100m400) session.
Contract
The number of the contract.
Contract
The number of the contract line.
Contract Office
The sales office or purchase office that is linked to the contract.
Price Matrix
The price matrix that is linked to the displayed pricing information.
Price Matrix Sequence
Price Factor
The price factor that is used to increase or decrease the price book's base price to calculate the unit price.

The factor is retrieved from the relevant price matrix session.

Price Book
An entity in which you can store price information that is valid for a given period of time.

A price book includes the following elements:

  • A price book header, which contains the code, type, and use of the price book.
  • One or more price book lines, which contain the items.

A quantity or value break discount schedule can be linked to a price book.

Price Origin
The origin of the displayed prices.

Freight Rate Matrix
The freight rate matrix that is linked to the displayed pricing information.
Freight Rate Book
An entity in which you can store freight rate information that is valid for a given period of time.

A freight rate book includes the following elements:

  • A freight rate book header, which contains the code, rating method, distance unit, and free distance.
  • One or more freight rate book lines, which contain the freight rates for a combination of attributes such as carrier and service level.

The freight rates specified in a freight rate book are subject to a minimum or maximum weight, distance, or additional rate value.

Recalculates prices and discounts after the pricing information is modified.
Generate Order
Generates a sales order or a purchase order based on the simulated pricing data.
Generate Quote
Generates a sales quotation based on the simulated pricing data.
Generate RFQ
Generates a request-for-quotation (RFQ) based on the simulated pricing data.
Line Discounts
Starts the Line Discounts (tdpcg0200m200) session in which you can update discounts.
