Items - Effectivity Series (tcuef0101m000)Use this session to define a unit series code that identifies a series of effectivity units for a specific item. You can define more than one effectivity series for a specific unit effective item, for example, one effectivity series for every customer that buys the item. For every series you can define one or more sequence ranges in the From Sequence Number and the To Sequence Number fields. You can, for example, define a range from 1 to 10 for a series, and a range from 11 to 14. If more than one range exists for a series, the ranges are not allowed to overlap. If you defined a series and a sequence range for a specific unit effective item, you can select the record and click Generate Effectivity Units in the appropriate menu. LN now links an effectivity unit to the combination of item, effectivity series, and sequence number. The data is stored in the Effectivity Units (tcuef0502m000) session. Example For a radar device, different models can be produced:
After selling 10 occurrences of the advanced (AD) model of the radar device, some modifications are made in the bill of material of the advanced radar device. The modifications apply only for the next two occurrences of the advanced radar device. A situation like this is modelled by defining two different series in the Items - Effectivity Series (tcuef0101m000) session:
Engineering Item If this check box is selected, the item is an engineering item used in the Engineering Data Management module in Manufacturing. End Item The unit effective item for which you define an effectivity series. You can only
define effectivity series if the Unit Effective End Item check box in the Item - General (tcibd0101s000) session is selected. Unit Series Code A code that represents a group of one or more effectivity units
that applies to the same unit effective item. From Sequence Number The first number of the sequence range that you define for the
unit effective item. For every series you can define one or more sequence
ranges in the From Sequence Number and the To Sequence Number fields. You can, for example, define a range from 1 to
10 for a series, and a range from 11 to 14. If more than one range exists for a
series, the ranges are not allowed to overlap. To Sequence Number The last number of the sequence range that you define for the
unit effective item. For every series you can define one or more sequence
ranges in the From Sequence Number and the To Sequence Number fields. You can, for example, define a range from 1 to
10 for a series, and a range from 11 to 14. If more than one range exists for a
series, the ranges are not allowed to overlap. All Effectivity Units are Interchangeable If this check box is selected, effectivity units are
interchangeable on the company level. End Item is Interchangeable If this check box is selected, effectivity units are
interchangeable on the item level. Interchangeable in Series If this check box is selected, effectivity units of
this series are interchangeable with other effectivity units of the same
series. Interchangeable with other Interchangeable Series If this check box is selected, effectivity units of
this series are interchangeable with other effectivity units of other
interchangeable series. Interchangeable with Stnd. Conf. and vice versa If this check box is selected, effectivity units of
this series are interchangeable with the standard configuration. Text If this check box is selected, a text is present.
Generate Effectivity Units Generates effectivity units for the selected item, and series. LN generates effectivity
units for the range of sequence numbers defined by the From Sequence Number and the To Sequence Number fields. Effectivity Units Starts the Effectivity Units (tcuef0502m000) session, which displays the effectivity units that are
created on the basis of the selected item, series, and sequence number
range. Print Effectivity Series Starts the Print Effectivity Series (tcuef0401m000) session. Relink Item - Effectivity Series Starts the Relink Item - Effectivity Series session. Default Requirements by End Item Starts the Item - Requirements (tcuef0108m000) session.
