Calendar Recurrences (tcccp0144m000)Use this session to define calendar recurrences.
Calendar Code A register of days that contains information on the
availability of, for example, resources or business partners at a specified
time range. Availability Type An indication of the type of activity for which a resource is
available. With availability types, you can define multiple sets of working
times for a single calendar. For example, if a work center is available for production on Monday through Friday and available for service activities on Saturdays, you can define two availability types, one for production and one for service activities and link these availability types to the calendar for that work center. Sequence Number The number that identifies a data record. To insert a single recurrence more than once, such as to define multipe shifts, you must enter different sequence numbers. Recurrence A repetition of dates, such as “Biweekly on Mondays and
Fridays”, “The 27th of each month”, or “The first Monday in June of every 5th
year”. Tip To enter multiple shifts that have the same recurrence, enter a different value in the Sequence Number field for each shift. However, in this case, the working times of the shifts must not overlap. Description The calendar recurrence's description. Available This check box defines whether the specified working hours are available to perform
work. If this check box is selected, resources linked to this calendar and availability type are available on the specified working times. If this check box is cleared, the linked resources are not available during the entire day specified, regardless of the value of the Working Hours Type field and the times you specify in the Start Time and End Time field. To specify a recurring unavailability, clear this check box. Working Hours Type A type of time interval such as Monday morning, Wednesday
afternoon, or service weekend. For a working hours type, you can define
defaults for start time and end time. Start Time The start time of the working hours. End Time The end time of the working hours. Capacity Percentage The maximum utilization percentage of a resource for this working hours type. For example, if you enter 80 here, a resource cannot be used for more than 80% of the working hours of the corresponding working hours type. By default, LN sets the value of the Capacity field to 100%. Note Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors affect the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, they influence the speed at which the work is carried out. Capacity percentages give information about the utilization rate of a resource. Efficiency Factor A variable that LN uses to take into account differences in the daily availability of
a resource, such as when working overtime, hiring extra staff, or working in
different shifts. For example, if an employee works six hours out of a possible
eight hours on a project, the efficiency factor is 0.75. Efficiency factors influence the lead-time calculation in Enterprise Planning. You can use the efficiency factor to do the following:
Note Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors affect the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, they influence the speed at which the work is carried out. Capacity percentages give information about the utilization rate of a resource. Overtime If this check box is selected, the working hours are defined
as overtime.
