Standard Calendar (tcccp0140m000)

Use this session to display and maintain the standard calendar, which is the parent calendar on top of the calendar derivation structure.

LN uses the standard calendar as a week template for each calendar. For each day of the week you can define combinations of availability types and working hours types.

The standard calendar is infinite, and LN uses its settings as a default for time periods that fall outside the time range of more specific calendars.

In theory, it is sufficient to define a standard calendar in the Standard Calendar (tcccp0140m000) session, and to specify a company calendar in the Companies (tcemm1170m000) session. You can base the time planning of you business entirely on these two calendars, because they contain all the factors and elements LN needs to perform all the planning functions for which LN uses calendars, such as lead-time offsetting and planning start and end dates. However, in practice the option to only use these two calendars limits the planning facilities. As the complexity of your business structure increases, you will definitely need to define more calendars with multiple availability types and working hours types. Also see To set up the calendar structure.

Day
The day of the week for which you can define combinations of availability types and working hours types.
Availability Type
The availability type to which this calendar line relates.
Available
If this check box is selected, a resource linked to this calendar is available for activities that are covered by the availability type.

LN by default selects the Available field.

Clear the Available field if a resource is not available.

Note

It is not useful to define a special availability type for non-availability, because LN does not generate calendars based on non-available availability types.

Working Hours Type
The working hours type to which this calendar line relates.
Start Time
The start time and end time mark the time frame to which the working hours type referenced in this calendar line applies.
End Time
The start time and end time mark the time frame to which the working hours type referenced in this calendar line applies.
Capacity
The maximum utilization percentage of a resource for this working hours type.

For example, if you enter 80 here, a resource cannot be used for more than 80% of the working hours of the current working hours type.

By default, LN sets the value of the Capacity field to 100%.

Efficiency Factor
You can use the efficiency factor to:

  • Take resources that work more efficient into account in the planning of shop floor operations. For example, in the morning a certain employee works harder than in the afternoon, then you enter an efficiency factor of 1.1. for the calendar line with time interval 0900 - 1200.
  • Shorten the lead time of operations by hiring extra resource for certain work.
Note

Do not confuse efficiency factors with capacity percentages. Efficiency factors impact on the lead-time calculation for which the corresponding calendar is used. In other words, they influence the speed at which the work is executed. The result of a specific efficiency factor is visible in the Hours field in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session.

Capacity percentages give information about the utilization rate of a resource during the available time.

Overtime
If this check box is selected, the working hours type referenced in this calendar line is defined as overtime.

This overtime is taken into account in modules such as the Service Order Control module and the Contract Management module in Service.
