Availability Types (tcccp0101m000)

Use this session to maintain availability types.

LN uses availability types to support mutltiple activities per resource. Examples of resources are employees, work centers, service centers, or warehouses.

Example

If an employee is planned for manufacturing activities and servicing activities, manufacturing and service must know when the employee is available for their activities. It is impractical to connect multiple calendars to one employee.

If you define one calendar for the employee, and link the availability types for manufacturing and service to this calendar, the employee calendar contains all the activities for which the employee is available.

Availability Type
The code that identifies the availability type.
Default Available
If this check box is selected, the availability type is available during the related time intervals in the calendar; in other words, the activity associated with the availability type is available.

The setting of the Default Available field is a default for the lines that LN records in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session, and to which a certain availability type is linked. In each of these lines, you can still determine whether the availability type is available by clicking the Available check box.

By default, the availability types are available, which is why LN selects the Default Available check box.

It is not useful to define a special availability type for non-availability of a certain resource, because LN does not generate calendars based on non-available availability types. The only effect of defining a special non-availability type is that LN displays non-available time in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session.
