Objects Links (dmcom8110m000)

Use this session to maintain the documents/ document revisions that are linked to any other LN entity defined as an object in ODM.

Example

To maintain the links between document revision and change requests, do the following:

On the File menu, click New to add document revisions to the list.

The focus moves to the identifier field in the first empty line. Click the browse arrow in the ID field to open the overview session of the relevant object type.

You can now link a new or an existing object to the object for which links are being maintained, as follows:

  • Select an existing document revision and click OK.
  • Create a new document/document revision and click OK.

The View Fields and Grid Fields are displayed dynamically in the session. The values for these fields are populated from the Objects (dmsys1511m000) session. The grid fields (source object) are always those of the Document Revision Object.

For example, if this session displays the links from change request to document revisions, then, for the target object (change request) the details of the CR Object definition appear. The details can be the change request and status. For the source object (document), the details from the DOC_REV Object definition appear. The details can be document, type, and revision.

Note
