Direct delivery support for sales return orders

Baan IVc supports directly delivery for sales return orders. This functionality is added to Infor LN SP1 so that direct delivery return orders in Baan IVc can be migrated to LN.

In Infor LN, direct delivery exists for sales orders. On a sales order or sales quotation, you can indicate whether you want the sold goods to be directly delivered from the buy-from business partner to the sold-to business partner. In case of a direct delivery, a sales order results in a purchase order. Warehousing is not involved.

However, in Infor LN, you cannot use direct delivery for sales return orders. If you ordered items from a specific buy-from business partner for a specific customer, and the customer sends one or more items back, you will receive the items first in the warehouse registered in LN.

In Infor LN SP1, sales return orders can be directly delivered from your customer (sold-to business partner) to your buy-from business partner. In that case, no goods are received in your own warehouse.

For a sales return order with direct delivery, a normal order type with negative quantities can be used as well as a return order type. In the Sales Order Types (tdsls0594m000) details session, you can use the Return Order field to define a sales order as a return order.
