Generate Planned Supply based on Forecast (cpvmi1211m000)

Use this session to carry out an order-planning based on the forecast received from your customer.

This session functions almost exactly like the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session. Instead of regular demand data, this session uses the forecast you received from your customer. The session plans only the plan items for which the VMI Role field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session is Create Supplier Forecast.

To base the planned supply only on the confirmed part of the forecast, set the Confirmed Supply Based On field in the Planning Terms and Conditions (tctrm1135m000) session to Confirmed Forecast.

Scenario
The scenario for which you want to generate planned orders.
Plan Level
The level within a hierarchical planning structure.

When you plan on a higher plan level, plans are general and less detailed.

Example
[...]

Plan level 1 is the highest plan level; the higher the number, the lower the plan level.

Plan Item
An item with the order system Planned.

The production, distribution, or purchase of these items is planned in Enterprise Planning based on the forecast or the actual demand.

You can plan these items by means of the following:

  • Master-based planning, which is similar to master production scheduling techniques.
  • Order-based planning, which is similar to material-requirements planning techniques.
  • A combination of master-based planning and order-based planning.

Plan items can be one of the following:

  • An actual manufactured or purchased item.
  • A product family.
  • A basic model, that is, a defined product variant of a generic item.

A group of similar plan items or families is called a product family. The items are aggregated to give a more general plan than the one devised for individual items. A code displayed by the item code's cluster segment shows that the plan item is a clustered item that is used for distribution planning.

Planner ID
The planner that is entered for the item in the Planner field of the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session.
Run a Net Change Planning
If this check box is selected, LN carries out a net-change simulation.

For details, refer to the Help of the Run a Net Change Planning field in the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session.

Remove Firm Planned Orders
If this check box is selected, LN erases all previously generated planned orders with the Firm Planned order status, before it starts a new simulation procedure.

For details, refer to the Help of the Remove Firm Planned Orders field in the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session.

Parallel Processing
If this check box is selected, LN distributes the calculations over multiple bshells, to improve performance.
Use Top-Down Item Selection
If this check box is selected, Enterprise Planning extends the item selection and also takes into account the multi-level structure of the bill of material (BOM), supplying relationships, and the relations that exist between generic items and the possible product variants.

For details, refer to the Help of the Use Top-Down Item Selection field in the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session.

Print Exception Messages
If this check box is selected, LN prints an overview of the generated exception messages in a report. You can also send the report to the display browser for a quick overview of the planning problems.

For details, refer to the Help of the Print Exception Messages field in the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session.

Log Exception Messages for Planner
The employee to whom LN assigns all generated exception messages.
