Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000)Use this session to carry out an order-planning run to generate orders of the following order types: LN only generates orders that fall within the order horizon. Note
Scenario The scenario for which you want
to generate planned orders. Plan Level The level within a hierarchical planning structure. When you plan on a higher plan level, plans are general and less detailed. Example Plan level 1 is the highest plan level; the higher the number, the lower the plan level. Selection Range From Plan Item An item with the order system Planned. The production, distribution, or purchase of these items is planned in Enterprise Planning based on the forecast or the actual demand. You can plan these items by means of the following:
Plan items can be one of the following:
A group of similar plan items or families is called a product family. The items are aggregated to give a more general plan than the one devised for individual items. A code displayed by the item code's cluster segment shows that the plan item is a clustered item that is used for distribution planning. Order Phase Number The first of the range of phase numbers that you want
to use as a selection criterion. Enterprise Planning only creates planned orders for plan items with an order phase number in the specified range. Planner The employee or department responsible for planning the
production, purchase and distribution of items. The planner takes into account
the inventory levels, availability of materials, and capacities of resources,
and reacts on signals such as rescheduling messages that LN generates. Use Vendor Selection Use Vendor Selection If this check box is selected, you can specify a range
of suppliers. LN limits
the simulation to items and item groups supplied by one of the suppliers in the
selection range. LN retrieves the items and item groups that are linked to the selected suppliers from the Item - Purchase Business Partner (tdipu0110m000) session. LN only takes into account the item/supplier relations that are valid in the planning horizon. The validity of an item/supplier relation is determined by its effective date and end date. These dates must fall in the planning horizon. Note To plan all items that directly or indirectly use components from particular suppliers, also select the Use Bottom-Up Item Selection check box. Buy-from Business Partner Specify the first of the range of buy-from business partners that you want
to use as a selection criterion, if you selected the Use Vendor Selection check box. Use Planning Group Selection If this check box is selected, orders are only
generated for the selected planning groups. Planning Group Select the range of planning groups for which orders will be generated. Options Generate Within Time Fence Use this check box to determine whether or not Enterprise Planning generates planned orders within the time fence. Dependent on the previously mentioned check boxes, three possible situations exist:
Note If the current check box is selected, you cannot select the Reset Net Change in Time Fence check box. Reset Net Change in Time Fence If this check box is selected, LN sets the net-change dates of all selected
plan items to zero after a net-change simulation. So,
net-change dates that lie in the time fence are also set to zero. Because of
this, the changes that lie in the time fence are not taken into account in the
next net-change RRP run. If this check box is cleared, net-change dates that lie in the time fence are not set to zero. So, the changes in the time fence can be considered in a later net-change RRP run that simulates in the time fence. Note If the Generate Within Time Fence check box is selected, you cannot select the current check box. Confirm within Time Fence If this check box is selected, for all planned orders
of which the planned finish dates fall in the time fence, the order status is set to Confirmed. Note If the Generate Within Time Fence check box is cleared, you cannot select the current check box. Remove Firm Planned Orders If this check box is selected, LN erases all previously
generated planned orders with the order status set to Firm Planned, before it starts a new simulation procedure. Note LN always removes all previously generated planned orders with the Planned order status before it starts a new simulation. Previously generated planned orders with the Confirmed order status are retained. Also Generate Item Master Plan If this check box is selected, LN also automatically performs a master plan
simulation for every item within the selection that has an item master plan. Selecting this check box has a negative impact on the system performance. It is recommended to use the Generate Master Planning (cprmp1202m000) session for simulating large numbers of items. Online Update Item Master Plan If this check box is selected, LN updates the item master plan of all simulated items online. You are recommended to only select the current check box if you simulate small selections, because of performance. If you want to simulate a large number of items, you are recommended to clear the current check box. After simulation, you can simulate a master plan in the Generate Master Planning (cprmp1202m000) session if the Update Goods Flow check box is selected. Update Resource Master plan If this check box is selected, LN updates the resource master plan for the resources involved in the planned production orders that Enterprise
Planning generates. Run a Net Change Planning If this check box is selected, LN carries out a net-change simulation. If this check box is cleared, LN carries out a regenerative simulation. Net-changes simulations are only used for the actual scenario. For other scenarios, Enterprise Planning always performs a full regeneration of the master plan or the order planning. Use Bottom-Up Item Selection If this check box is selected, Enterprise Planning
extends the item selection and also takes into account the multi-level
structure of the bill of material (BOM), supplying relationships, and the relations
that exist between generic items and the possible product variants. Note If you specified the full range of items under Selection Range, this check box is cleared and cannot be changed. For the range of plan items that you specified in the From Plan Item and To Plan Item fields, or for any item that LN includes in the selected range as a result of the bottom-up item selection, LN extends the item selection with their:
During the bottom-up item selection, LN completely mixes the existing item structures. The selection algorithm takes in account, for example, the parent-child structure of the BOM, comes across a distribution structure that you modelled by supplying relationships, and finally ends up in the structure of standard, generic, and project items. Note The following restrictions apply:
Use Top-Down Item Selection If this check box is selected, Enterprise Planning extends
the item selection and also takes into account the multi-level structure of the bill of material (BOM), supplying relationships, and the relations
that exist between generic items and the possible product variants.
During the top-down item selection, LN completely mixes the existing item structures. The selection algorithm takes in account, for example, the parent-child structure of the BOM, comes across a distribution structure that you modelled by supplying relationships, and finally ends up in the structure of standard, generic, and project items. Note Top down also works for project items that have a standard-to-order (STO) structure. Note The following restrictions apply:
Performance aspects The setting of this field could affect system performance and database growth. For more information, refer to Top-down item selection. Allow Multiple Sources per Requirement If this check box is selected, Enterprise Planning
creates planned orders with various order types
according to the sourcing strategy that you defined for the item in the Sourcing Strategy (cprpd7110m000) session. If this check box is cleared, Enterprise Planning creates only one type of planned orders, according to the setting of the Item Type field in the Item - General (tcibd0101s000) session and the settings for the item in the Date-Effective Item Data (tcibd0510m000) session. Parallel Processing If this check box is selected, LN distributes the calculations over multiple
bshells, to improve performance. Update Pegging Relations If this check box is selected, LN also calculates the
pegging relations. If this check box is cleared, LN deletes all existing
pegging relations. To view the pegging relations, start the Browse Order Pegging (cprrp0740m000) session. Note You can modify this check box only if the Update Pegging Relations during Order Planning field in the Scenarios (cprpd4100m000) session is User Specified. For more information, refer to Update Pegging Relations during Order Planning. Delete Current Pegging Relations If this check box is selected, LN deletes all pegging
relations for all scenarios before the updated pegging
relations are generated. If you execute a full order simulation run for all plan items, you can better select this check box, because that gives you a better system performance. However, if you generate planned orders for a limited selection of plan items, or if you want to retain the pegging relations for other scenarios, you must clear this check box. Firm Plan Orders with Allocations If this check box is selected, the demand on the firm
planned orders is allocated to a specific supplier. Automatic Order Grouping If this check box is selected, LN rebuilds the automatic-update order groups. Exception Messages Save Exception Messages If this check box is selected, Enterprise Planning
updates the exception messages in the Planner/Item Signals (cprao1125m000) session for the range of planners that you specified
in the Planner From and the Planner To field. Print Exception Messages If this check box is selected, LN prints an overview of the generated
exception messages in a report. You can also send the report to the display
browser for a quick overview of the planning problems. LN also stores the exception messages in the database. The exception messages in the report are less detailed than the exception messages that are stored in the database. Use the following sessions to see these details:
Planner The employee to whom LN assigns all generated
exception messages. If this field is empty, LN sends the item-related exception messages to the planner that is linked to the item in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session. If no planner is linked to the item, LN stores the item-related exception messages without mentioning a planner. LN also stores non-item-related exception messages without mentioning a planner. Planning Signals to Planner The name of the planner.
Generate Starts the simulation procedure.
