The Modeler settings

There are two types of settings:

  • The user settings
These settings define the setup of your personal work environment. When you run the Modeler, these settings are retrieved and automatically applied. The user settings apply to a specific user.

To modify the user settings, on the Datei menu:

    • Go to Settings (tgbrg8136m000)
    • Click User
  • The application settings
They define the appearance for all the diagram's symbols, relationships, and descriptions. When a setting in the application settings is modified, it is applied to all diagrams on the local workstation.

To modify the application settings, on the Datei menu of the modeler:

    • Go to Settings
    • Click Application
User settings

User settings are applied as default settings for all diagrams you create or modify. Some of the settings you can operate by the menu or toolbar.

Beispiel

If you select the Automatic Relationships through the Optionen menu, the related toolbar button is also set; however, the Automatic Relationships check box in user settings is not set.

This is because the setting via the menu or toolbar is temporary, and the user setting is not. The user settings dialog box is divided into three tabs:

General

  • To make the status bar visible at the bottom of the main window, select the Status bar check box.
  • To make a selection of the toolbars that must be visible, click Toolbars.

Diagram

  • To automatically create the relationship between two consecutively inserted symbols, select the Automatic Relationships check box.

Header

  • To make the header visible in the diagram window, select the Show Header check box.
  • To display information in the header on the diagram window, click the appropriate check boxes.
  • To display a logo in the header, select the Display Logo check box. To select a logo, click Browse. If you know the location and filename of the logo, you can specify it in the related text box.
  • To change the color of a header item, such as Diag. Name, select Description Text Pick.
  • To change the color of the value of a header item, such as the name behind Diag. Name, select Value Text Pick.
  • To change the color of the header background, select Background Pick.
Application settings

In application settings, you can modify the appearance of all graphical objects of all the diagrams.

Hinweis

The graphical objects used in existing diagrams will not change.

To change the setting of an item you selected in the left window, in the window on the right, select the attribute and click Bearbeiten.

The new setting will apply when you open a new diagram. If it does not, close the application and start it again.
