Group Activities
If this check box is selected, all the planned activities having the same planned start time, sold-to-BP of the serialized item and the same contract are grouped into one service order.

You must select this check box to group more than one planned activity into a single service order.

Grouping can be done only if all the activities belong to the same sold-to business partner,, same planned start time and same contract.

Following are the possible options :

  • With existing service orders
  • Exclude emergency orders
  • By Item
  • By Activity group
  • By Location
  • Difference in Start Time
  • Use parallel planning

If this check box is cleared, all the above options are not available.

With Existing Service Orders
If this check box is selected, the activities are not grouped initially. When you transfer each activity to the service order, it is grouped under the same service order based on the following conditions:
  • Department
  • Business partner
  • Service contract
  • Planned start time, and so on.
Exclude Emergency Orders
Select the checkbox to transfer the activity to a normal existing service order. Based on certain conditions you can exclude the emergency service orders when you select the existing service order.
Note

You must select the With Existing Service Orders checkbox to enable this field.

Item
If this check box is selected, all the planned activities having the same item, same sold-to-BP of the serialized item, same contract and the same planned start time are grouped into one service order.
By Activity Group
If this check box is selected, all the planned activities having the same reference activity group, same sold-to-BP of the serialized item, same contract and the same planned start time are grouped into one service order.
By Location
If this check box is selected, all the planned activities having the same planned start time, same sold-to-BP of the serialized item, same contract and the same location (either of the Installation group or of the serialized item) are grouped into one service order.
Difference in Start Time
If this check box is selected, for every planned activity the remaining planned activities are checked to see if they fall within the time difference mentioned and are grouped accordingly with the first planned activity.

Example

Suppose there are 3 activities 10, 20 and 30 with planned start times 08:00:00AM , 09:00:00AM and 10:00:00 AM (on the same day). If the Difference in Start Time field is filled as 2 Hrs, then all the 3 activities are grouped into one service order. If the Difference in Start Time field is filled as 1Hr, then only activity 10 and 20 are grouped into one service order.

Travel Time
When you group multiple planned orders into a single service order, you must ensure that the travel time mentioned in the planned activity is also used effectively.

This field can have the following values

  • Minimum:The minimum travel time of the planned activities that are grouped into a service order. When you group with an existing service order then the travel time is the minimum of the planned activity and that of the service order.
  • Maximum:The maximum travel time of the planned activities that are grouped into a service order. When you group with an existing service order then the travel time is the minimum of the planned activity and that of the service order.
  • Cumulative: Service order time is the cumulative of travel time of all the planned activities grouped into a service order. When you group with an existing service order then the travel time is the cumulative of the planned activity and that of the service order.

For example: Three planned activities have the travel time as 2,3 and 4 hours. When you group these three planned activities into a service order , if the travel time option is minimum then the service order travel time is 2 hours. If the travel time option is maximum then the service order travel time is 4 hours. If the travel time option is cumulative then the service order travel time is 9 hours.

Note

If you select the By Location check box then only the following options are available:

  • Minimum
  • Maximum
Step size for activity
